Character class pronunciations - jarl - 29-03-2006 O_o im mostly in agreeance with whiteninja, but for RA- its rah, not ray! and, FOney is: phone-wearl (like world, no 'd'), and caseal is like ca-seal. so, rah-ca-seal, hue-ca-seal Character class pronunciations - Moonwraith - 29-03-2006 HUE-marr HUE-cast HUE-cah-seel HUE-new-earl RAH-marr RAH-marrl RAH-cast RAH-cah-seel FOE-marr FOE-marrl FOE-nyoom FOE-new-earl PSO is full of names that seem to be pronounced differently by different people >_> A semi-off-topic point perhaps, but how do people here pronounce 'Dimenian'? Personally, I say 'DEE-MAY-NEE-ANN' which might sound a bit weird <_< Character class pronunciations - Hrith - 29-03-2006 If you had played the game in Japanese for 2 years, like I have, you'd know all names. Japanese letters directly transcribe sounds. And it is DEE-ME-NIAN (ディメニアン .People may pronounce the names in funny ways, there is a standard pronunciation, dictated by Sonic Team. Character class pronunciations - jarl - 29-03-2006 dim-ian (ian said quickly) lol, missed the 'e'
Character class pronunciations - Mirinee - 29-03-2006 I just call them the "blue Ruins sharks" XD. ----- (I hope the Japanese display in this post works) Kefka Wrote:レイマ―Where did you get those from? If that's what you're going by, then it indeed says "rah-cast", but I've also played PSOBB Japanese Beta and PSO Version2 JP, and the character classes were written differently as: ヒューマー ハニュエール <-- the HUnewearl exception ![]() ヒューキャスト ヒューキャシール レイマー レイマール レイキャスト <-- says "ray-cast"! レイキャシール フォーマー フォマール フォニューム フォニュエール And the "ホ" isn't quite there because it's already in the "ニュ". Character class pronunciations - whiteninja - 30-03-2006 I remember, one time I randomly bumped into someone at school who happened to play PSO. (There are like 1400 kids, and I didn't even know this guy, and I have no idea how we got on that topic, but anyway...) I said "Uh-soo-kah" (Asuka), and he went on some huge rant about it being the "Ass-kah" :S Character class pronunciations - jarl - 30-03-2006 lol- i call it 'a (as in about) sue ca (as in car with no r) not 'uh'
Character class pronunciations - nomercy - 30-03-2006 Like Yamato.I say yah-mah-toe,but some people say it differently. Character class pronunciations - TheUnnamedOne - 30-03-2006 How can you say that differently?, Ya-Ma-To... umm, i can't think of another way, EDIT: just realised: [yah-mah-toe, or yah-mah-too] even though thats weird... but i say Hue-Mar Hue-Ne-werl Hue-Cast Hue-Ca-seal Ray-Mar Ray-Marl Ray-Cast Ray-Ca-Seal Foe-Mar Foe-Marl Foe-Newm Foe-Ne-wearl ... So do everyone i play it with, Character class pronunciations - Hrith - 30-03-2006 TheUnnamedOne Wrote:So does everyone i play it withThat does not mean you're right. Mirinee, IME went funny on me, I don't recall putting any "ホ", and IME does not automatically converts "か" into "キャ" when going to Katakana (because aspirated consonants do not exist in Japanese). As for ラキャスト <--> レイキャスト, it seems I remembered wrong <_< |
