Market Leader by the end of 2007... those are strong words when so many people are dissing the controller before it's release! I'm not seeing market leadership opportunities here for Ninty this time i'm afraid, but i don't care either, because, as Nintendo have said themselves, and in that statement, it's all about the games and the gameplay, and as long as that continues in their own little market they're making, then i'm a happy follower! Big Grin

Also, you've probabily all heard it by now, but according to the Ninty Pressy, Revolution will go for a Xbox360 launch with a simultaneous release after Spring 2006 (here's the news). Funny how it's also the same time The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess is due for a release date. I guess Nintendo are staying true to that even older statement when they said the Nintendo Gamecube wouldn't die when the Revolution is released. I'm guessing they just want to show that the Gamecube will live on, whether it's with a Revolution or not! Tongue

A lot of people i speak to lately have been knocking the Rev due to its controller. Fair enough, but i say to them they can't do this yet as no-one really knows the applications for this controller. A lot of my friends have been saying that there will be an awful lot of gimmicky games for the rev built around the controller. I had to laugh at this really. DUH i say, at least Rev owners can look forward to something fresh and new i said.

Let them take the p**s i say while they are playing gta7 and tekken89 and halo4 and generic fps46......yawn....zzzzzzz.

Also i agree, merricks comments about being market leader are optimistic too, unless he means nintys own market heh heh.

Two interesting News Posts concerning the Nintendo Revolution from Revo-Europe.com...

Revo-Europe.com Wrote:It's been annouced Shigeru Miyamoto will make a keynote speech next month. Could more Revolution news be revealed?

One month from now, on December 2nd, Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto will deliver a keynote address at the Kyoto Digital Interactive Entertainment Conference.

Lasting 30 minutes, we don't know what he'll be speaking about, but to stop speculation running completely rife it's worth keeping in mind what Nintendo Europe's Jim Merrick said a few days ago when he confirmed no Revolution games would be shown this year.

For what it's worth Spong is saying we "could" see Mario 128 there, but they made the same claim about this year's TGS...
Revo-Europe.com Wrote:Nintendo of Europe's Jim Merrick has said Revolution's full specifications will probably never see a release as they are 'insignificant'...

Speaking to Dutch gaming mag [N]Gamer, Europe's senior director of marketing Jim Merrick has said that "regarding the specifications, we will probably never 'release' this information as we feel that it is largely irrelevant."

"While some of our competitors enjoy comparing specifications, it has little or nothing to do with how satisfied the consumers will be with the system and the games once they are released. I know people are hungry for information on Revolution and we respect and appreciate that, but we don't want to contribute to the cloud of meaningless information that surrounds the next generation systems."

He also mentioned that development of Zelda, Mario, Metroid Prime and Smash Brothers Revolution games series is "progressing well".
So, Mr. Miyamoto is gonna give us all a speech about something imparticular on the same day the Xbox360 launches here in the UK... what's he gonna talk about?!

And also Ninty may never release the specs of the Revolution because they don't matter... that's going to get them nothing be grief from media and the competitors! "OMG! Revolution is so lame because the specs are so crap they wont even tell us what they are" is what you're going to get from mouths if it's true! Nice to hear that Zelda, Mario, Metroid and SUPER SMASH BROTHERS Revolution is going well though Wink

I heard that the rev will be powered by fruit juice and will single-handedly be able to sort out world hunger and poverty as well, as well as terraforming mars heh heh Tongue
I for one dont care if they don't officially reveal the specs to us, Nintendo have never let us down before(except for virtual boy ahem) so i dont expect a flop this time either.

Anyone remember what they first thought when rogue leader for cube first appeared?

Wow....zomg...Look at those graphics....etc.

It was rather good wasn't it?

Firstly, many apologies for the dp but,

http://www.revolutionreport.com/articles/read/148

The November 2005 issue of Edge magazine, a United Kingdom-based multiplatform publication, previews the Nintendo Revolution controller after receiving hands-on time at Tokyo Game Show 2005.

According to the magazine, the controller is “unthreatening and uncomplicated,” and “begs to be picked up.” Continuing on, it “makes you feel like a magician, becoming so settled in your hand there might as well be nothing there.”

I do trust edge magazine so, as i thought, revolution owners will have nothing to worry about, neither will xbox and ps converts lol Tongue

Nintendo Revolution - Faulkie - 14-11-2005

I doubt we'll be seeing too many 'converts' though, it's just too different to what they're used to.

Nintendo Revolution - Arrogantelf - 15-11-2005

On reflection i believe you may be right Faulkie, but consider the fact of price. The rev could become popular due to this alone as many peoples "second" console.

*wishes for decent third party support for lots of european releases*
