Serpent7, the word n00b means moron, idiot, or branless person, no I do not know how it originated, probably from the word newb, as you have stated. But words may evolve over time, so the word may not have the same meaning that it had originally...meaning that it could have evolved to mean idiot, who knows...what is on that site is to be trusted, Immeyournot made a stupid statement in calling one of the biggest gaming communities on the internet "meaningless crap".
Despite what seems to be popular belief the word n00b means idiot, and untill you can give me a link to a website proving me wrong...then you are wrong in my eyes. I have given proof of my statement, nobody opposing my point of view has, get some evidance.

But the website you show isn't proof! It's just a website for followers of your belief of what the word means! It has no PROOF of what it means- If I created a website saying that n00b means newbie, that doesn't mean it's true? The only thing that has any grounds in this discussion, from my point of view, is that the word n00b does sound like newbie, and therefore means newbie, and there is no backing to suggest otherwise, as of yet.

Think about it logically...(how many times have I had to say that now?) The word newbie already has an abreviation...newb...the word n00b and the word newb are both four letter words, why would you make up another four letter word just to replace the one already in existance...?
I enjoy this conversation, not many times have I been able to talk like this without it escalating into a flame war...

Personally I can understand Kal (after about a full minute re-reading the post) but he is wrong, this is not going to erupt into a war because Serpent and myself are more mature than that, and we enjoy having conversations about contravercial (sp?) topics. You are wrong when you say we were all n00bs at one point, we were all not stupid at one point, we were all NEW at one point. And superiours do not have the right to make fun of, or degrade those who are worse at a certan skill than them, for instance, you may be good at a computer game, while I may be good at soccer, or baseball, that does not give me the right to laugh at you when you arn't as good as I am at soccer or baseball. So Kal, if you feel the need to participate in the conversation, please do so in a legable manner, and do not ask for the topic to be locked in every post.

i only asked once! and i meant that is okto joke around as long as IT ISN"T RACAIL OR DEGRADING! & besides everyone has betters wether they amitt it or not. They poeple that come online a lot of them are begginers and act like they know every thing just cause they've done a few missions. My caracters arent very strong but i could any body a difficult time if they went up agisnt me. All i meant was every was a beginer and we were called newbs to.
