It helps to go into an empty lobby ANYWAY. You don't want some idiot FSODing you or hacking your character (the latter has happened to me, I lost all record of having spent more hours on my FOmarl than some people have eaten hot dinners...)

Stacking indeed is cheating, and I hear from alot of people that it also prevents finding rares.
