Secret gear has a lot more def points then most barriers. It depends on what you want. If you want to be hidden plus have high def, use secret gear.

No you just get a major DFP and EVP boost, and the resistances are 30/20/30/0/0, no HP boost or anything else like that.

Actualy, whenever I have it equiped, the enemies will sometimes walk in circles for a short period of time. I never said it makes you invisible.
