I've read a few of the replies, and I can only recommend that you install Ad Aware (from Lavasoft) and run a full scan. If possible, scan with Norton or Panda (which unfortunately isn't free). Also another advice, dump IE if you can and switch to Firefox. Looking at the topic title, I believe the author isn't acustomed to deleting malicious data through regestry editing, so I definetly recommend formating if what was already suggested doesn't work, and then on a new install use the recommended software.

whats svchost.exe serpent? its onmy comp but doesnt seem to be doing much. also, my dad says compuserve isnt important, so i can get rid of it. where is it?

i managed to get rid of istvc just now.

how do i put a process to start when windows starts up back on the list? i took off fast.exe (the one where youhold down windows+q and you change change accounts from desktop) and now i dunno howto get it back.

That's a description of SVC host. It isn't a virus, but it is an important exe file to keep running.

As for your other thing, just restart your computer it should be there then.

ok, im soo nearly done its unbelivable. 3 viruses to go and have no clue where they are.

in the word doc. attached, theres a screenshot of the virus im having a biggest problem with (highlighted). whats the '/1:@:1' bit doing? above that is the virus that doesnt tell me where it is, and above that is someithng else i cant remember.

edit: i dont believe it, its too big. S7, could you try and hang around a bit more on msn please?
