I don't have downtime...I can reswing instantly, there would be like 1/2 a second window, and that's not fast enough to attack.

lol, yeah...oh and another reason I don't like daggers is simply BECAUSE you have to get so close. Might as well make it a manly, honorable fight and do it hand-to-hand.

Yes, but you don't necassairily have to attack in that half a second window, you can run round the back, or, if the need be, take a step back, making them overbalnce when the try and move foward whilst swinging- I do that alot. I've tried daggers, a sword, and Kendo Bar, and I definately prefer daggers.

well that's certainly your preference and never use a weapon you don't feel good with. Believe me, I'm not saying daggers are useless weapons, but unless I was really caught off guard, I would be able to defeat any dagger wielder with my swords.
