All powerboards have the same mapping issues. It is like that when you first buy it.

The number and letter keys are perfect though so thats the main thing! After a while you get used to it to be honest, and even then you can use your computer keyboard in the adapter which comes with it.

yeah ive heard of people doing that....

Sounds like the path to follow. I'd never want to have to get used to a new kind of keyboard. It took me long enough to learn how to type so I don't need to start over.

I was wondering, for the powerboard adapter, can you just switch the keyboard with another one that you have, and will it work just as a normal keyboard? Or does the problem lie in the adapter? I have heard somthing about it being normal if you just use another keyboard other than the one that the powerboard comes with.

It's not the adaptor or the keyboard. It's the software.
For your question Orphen, I'm pretty sure every keyboard is the same, unless you have a Japanese keyboard.
I'm sure I said the reason here (if not here somewhere on the forums at least) that Sega wasn't going to programme for different keyboard layouts since the kb wasn't going to be released outside of Japan. But Datel made one and the software still thinks it's a Japanese keyboard.
At least that's how I think it works. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

When I pluged the PCs keyboard into the addapter it worked perfectly.

Here is a pic of the addpater. It used a PS/2 connection so sorry all you serial and USB peeps put there! (me lol)

one of my friends friend, has a keyboard for the gc. its purple and bout 3/4 the size of the normal keyboard. and with that u dont need it to play u just plug it into the 4th slot and the controller to the 1st and just play as u would.

yeah we know all that darkmatter, the issue was if the malfunctions with the keyboard were caused by the keyboard or the adapter. If you use your regular PC keyboard, you should have no problems (ive never heard of anyone complain about the adapter itself, but there are always faulty ones)
