ep.2 missions - IronMaggot - 09-06-2004 Yes, another good point, localastion takes time, as does inculding more languages. Well NTSC can be used on most modern TV's now, but we are still standard PAL, and I don't think it will ever change. Florida could be nice, but bigger waves in Hawaii, and I want to surf! ep.2 missions - Faulkie - 09-06-2004 what do they actually change from USA to UK? (except the game format). I mean, it's in english ayway and what did you mean by 'culturaly correct'? ep.2 missions - Kiweki - 09-06-2004 I didn't really mean that for the U.K. I'm just saying that some jokes and sayings might have to be changed for the other countries. I wouldn't really know, but they might not have equivalent jokes in France... I remember hearing that they don't call it German Idol in Germany because it brings back memories of WW2. I think it's called Germany Superstar... So ya know, some things might have to be changed. ep.2 missions - Faulkie - 09-06-2004 I guess... but I was thinking that some words like 'pants' which mean different things in the UK than in the US but when is that gonna come up in a game? ep.2 missions - Kiweki - 09-06-2004 Ummm, I dunno, pants in America are those things you wear on your legs ...Don't you guys call cigarettes "fags"? ep.2 missions - Faulkie - 09-06-2004 sometimes... why? Isn't that what you call gay people? ep.2 missions - Kiweki - 09-06-2004 Yes! I am laughing so hard right now, I don't know why... ep.2 missions - Faulkie - 09-06-2004 O...k... *steps away from kiweki* Anyway, I get to do this now *GOLDIE costume* Back on topic! Yeah I know I was off topic too but I only just realised. Sorry! ep.2 missions - IronMaggot - 09-06-2004 Well there is only a small amount of localastion done between USA and UK, but they have to make sure it fits in with the whole of europe on most cases, not just UK. I don't know a great deal of the process, so you would have to ask publishers. Ok, enough off topic, back on. Well when I first played ep2 I was annoyed there was no quests, but then it didn't bother me that much, as the levels just look so lovely, I like fighting in them. ep.2 missions - Kiweki - 09-06-2004 I haven't played Ep2 yet, but there are no quests??? I can't believe that. What about PSO+?? |
