not necessarily. someone who is religious might say "I must serve God by serving others." while an atheist would say "I must serve my country by serving others." either way, you help other people. religion affects you outlook on why you are doing things, morals affect what you do and people can have morals without religion, believe it or not.

this may come as a shock to many but i am an aethiest in the sense that i dont believe in anything though i prefer to be called nondenominational we dont believe in anything but we dont disrespect others rights to. I live by my own personal morals and standards. In the eyes of some this would make me a heathen or unclean... hell ive been called demon by some but it creates an interesting paradox can you be a good person while not believing in god ?

Life - whiteninja - 14-03-2005

i didn't know that you were "undenominational" but i still thought you were a good person, and i still think you are. you don't need to believe in God or a god to be good, it just helps.

with the whole heaven/hell issue i don't how your religion or lack of would play in. what if Mother Theresa wasn't a nun? what if she was just a really nice atheist, would that mean she would be banned from heaven? that wouldn't make very much sense.

religion doesn't make you necessarily good either, Hitler was a Christian who wanted everyone to be Christian, so what'd he do? he started killing all the non-Christians! (mainly the Jews) so because he was fanatically religious should he get into heaven? that wouldn't make very much sense either.

this is starting to stray off-topic slightly....

So, does that mean you do not believe in elves, and dragons? What about magic? what about ME!?

*do I exist or not? Aiya! It is happening again!*

To live...
To survive...
To rise to the top...
To evolve...

Nothing more nothing less...

Evolve.....

*Yes...that makes sense...

I evolved from humans after all...*

Hmm...? No, nothing. I did not say anything...

*why are you looking at me funny*

To me that is so incredibly depressing...
to think that ones "after life" is just nothing...
a vaccum...void...

gross...
i cant live with that...

Meh, welcome to my world. Some people, and I, think of LIFE as a pointless vacuum...

this is going to sound extremely gay and optimistic...
(which are not common traits of mine...)

but...
it is mostly what you make of it...

Life - DarkMagician - 14-03-2005

What I make of it...hahahahah...no...It is what OTHERS have made of it for me, that I see life as almost pointless.
