Smoking - SilentBob - 24-08-2005 Im sorry to say this, but i dont think those two visits these forums. so sad.. Smoking - Double Edge - 24-08-2005 The same warnings appear in gas stations and whatnot around here as well. I believe it has become law (don't hold me to this) in Canada to label cigarettes and tabacco-related products with warnings about the serious effects it has on your body; not to forget others around you when it boils down to second-hand smoke. It's important for smokers and non-smokers alike to realize what smoking does to you. Or, if they have already figured that part out, they need to develop the courage and will to quit, no matter the toll it will take on the tobacco companies. I can't help but find it slightly amusing that, especially the teenagers of our age, continue to smoke pot and everything else. I can guarantee that they know what harmful things it does to your body, but who cares, "it's cool." Pathetic. Smoking - Jimbo1990 - 24-08-2005 Smoking has become such a problem the RDC (racing drivers club i think...) have now banned Cigarette sponsors being shown on F1 cars All racing cars infact Smoking - whiteninja - 24-08-2005 They really don't even need the labels on the packs... It's not like there's anyone who doesn't know it's unhealthy for you... Just the fact that it says it right there and people ignore it shows great stupidity. Smoking - Double Edge - 24-08-2005 Everyone who reaches for a pack of crapass cigs know the dangers of smoking. The labels are there as a reminder, but the people are too damn addicted and stupid to give a crap. Smoking - whiteninja - 24-08-2005 Saying that you're addicted to them is no excuse at all. It would be your fault for startin the habit anyway and there are people who manage to give up much more addicting drugs. (Though many don't, there are still some that do, and if they can manage to get off crack or whatever, then I think smokers can manage to get off nicotene. Especially with all the gum and patches and things there are to help. You don't see any gum to help people drop an addiction to meth, do you? Yet some people do.) Thats a little harsh though some of them may be trying really hard to give up they may too far gone to save Smoking - Double Edge - 24-08-2005 Jimbo1990 Wrote:Thats a little harsh though some of them may be trying really hard to give up they may too far gone to save Nobody is ever too far to quit smoking. Smoking - Jimbo1990 - 24-08-2005 But you don't know that though do you? My uncle smoked like 16 cigs aday wfrom when he was 15 and he labelled by doctors "a hopeless case" think on it Smoking - whiteninja - 24-08-2005 Just because the doctor said it'd be "hopeless" it doesn't mean it really is. He could have stopped smoking if he wanted. I bet he couldn't have gone cold turkey though or he could have had some really bad withdrawals but he could slowly have stepped down his smoking and eventually quit. And from the way you phrased that, it sounds like your uncle is already dead (which I'm sorry about). It was from something about smoking, wasn't it? |
