MARIO KART ONLINE!

Kirbys Air Ride Was the first LAN-linkable game to be available and this was used to get the project up and running-You could dupe the Gamecube into thinking it was actualy playing over LAN when it was actualy working over the internet. Now with Mario Kart finaly released the point has been tweaked to the point where you, the intrepid online gamer, can take part in testing sofware.

If you head over to http://www.warppipe.com you can find more extencive details about the project and how it all works as well check out the latest version of the software, which is ready to download. On the main page you will find thw latest news about the current software, as well as FAPS and forums to help you get started and troubleshoot any problems connectiong you may be having to look for players to race against.

The current version (at the time of writing) is running at a remarkable 55-60 FPS with little noticable lag. Obviously there is a great deal to be done but the fact is that IT WORKS. Unfortunately, you're unable to chat while you race-there simply aint bandwidth for text, let alone voice chat-but there are some plans to have some user recognition system in place for a future update for the software, enabling you recognise who you're playing againts.

Also, the current software only enables 2 gamecubes to be linked together (for up to eight players to race), although there are plans for a beta version which should enable four gamecubes to be connected.

HOWS THAT FOR RESEARCH!

Mario Kart:Double Dash!! - Lee-yoshi - 22-11-2003

The secret tracks sure are cool! How many battle arenas has everyone unlocked so far? Cos i only got Luigi's Mansion Sad

Mario Kart:Double Dash!! - Proj3ct_Zer0 - 22-11-2003

I've only got Luigis Mansion aswell. When your talking about secret tracks, are you ona bout the ones found on the Special Cup?

Mario Kart:Double Dash!! - Ivan - 23-11-2003

Luigi's mansion is a track? SWEET! any other cool ones? like that island mario visits in Super Mario Sunshine?

Mario Kart:Double Dash!! - Lee-yoshi - 23-11-2003

Well its not a track, just a small battle arena, but still pretty cool!

I think its quite cheesy of ninty to rename the track from Isle defino to peach's beach or wotever, it shud b Isle Defino beach or sumin, its not peachs! tut tut

Mario Kart:Double Dash!! - Proj3ct_Zer0 - 23-11-2003

Yeh. The only problem about that level is that it is nothing like the Isle Delfino on Super Mario Sunshine, which is quite a shame Sad

Mario Kart:Double Dash!! - Lee-yoshi - 23-11-2003
