Yes you could. He was one of the better characters too if you could pull of his Up-B move perfectly. I remember the days of old school smash. I remember playing at a afterschool center in 2nd grade and beating everyone. Good times.

I annoy all my friends, because I play around with them and dodge most of their attacks, instead of attacking them back. I'm getting better at it every time I play!

Dodge and counterattack, eh? Heheheh...aaanyway...
Luigi completely outclasses Mario. Why? ecause he jumps better, slides easily, and has better moves. Plus, dashing into someone or a group and hitting A is a laugh. Watch Luigi pummel them about eight times!
Plus, Luigi's taunt DOES DAMAGE if it hits. I once kiled a L5 computer with that taunt. HAHAHAH! HOW HUMILIATING!

Luigi is an interesting charecter to play with. If i had a choice, Luigi before Mario easily
and um....CAN you kill a comp with that taunt?? Interesting....

Yes you can kill a computer with that taunt. In fact you get a special bonus for it, Poser KO. It's required for one of the final trophies.
In melee or original, I found Mario to be better because he was much better at dodging attacks and counterattacking. If luigi started getting combo'ed that was it for him. Mario on the other hand can get out of the situation or end it with a counter much more easily.
