Humars are very well rounded and because they are known for that they are seen as the *NEWBIE* character but they can also turn out to be fun. Either way Humars are ok but personaly if your going to be a Hunter, you should be the best one out of the 4. The Hucast. Cool

I don't see where this little "HUmars are for n00bs" myth came from. My first, and ever since best by far character is a HUmar. They're not exactly easy to start off with. Since they throw a saber in the arms of a HUmar and shove them down to Ragol with that, and it's not exactly a n00b thing to have to actually confront the enemies and kill them that way, or of course take a full five minutes to clear a room with the crap-damage and frequent missing of something like a handgun.
Humars are most likely considered "newbie/n00b characters" only because of their class description (misleading if you ask me) and the fact that they're the very first thing on the list for those who just press random buttons and decide to be dumb with everything.

They're well-balanced too, from what I've heard and read. I, for one, rather like those kinds of even statistics. True the HUmar can't use Shifta or Deband, but they can use Jellen and Zalure combined with their mag's Shifta+Deband capabilities. I'm not that big on techniques anyway, I just run on in and kill whatever's moving without a second thought.

I should stop talking now, though. I have a huge bias for my favor of the Humar, seeing as, like I said, my best character is one. I, of course, never speak with the intention to say that one classification is better than the other. They're all equal in a lot of ways, so debating such a thing is quite pointless.

stop spreading bullshit, or do not do it on Ragol.

This is what I think:

No characters are better than others. No character is worst than any other. All depends on what you think.

I think too that each character has their own speciality and manner of play.

I just don't like that call HUmars as a character for n00bs. He is just another character as all others.

personally i dislike HUmars because of their averageness- i like extremes, and so would go for a FOnewearl or HUcaseal, which are nearly opposites (i dont like the look of the HUcast Tongue) and since HUmar is in the middle, i just think that they suck. some people may like the fact that they arent horribly bad at anything and use them, but i view it as they arent very good at anything. each to their own i guess.

When I started out with PSO I was a FOmarl on DC and then a FOmar on Cube, and I never learned to melee because I was door fighting all the time. When I got to vhard and door fighting stopped working, I realised I had to develop some actual combat skills, therefore I decided to try hunters.

I tried to like the HUmar, I really did. I made several of them one after the other, but the best I ever did with one was level 17. I don't like their look (too samey) and more than that I didn't like missing. And I was missing quite a bit, even in Normal. There is nothing more annoying than swinging your sword at a bunch of stuff, seeing a red MISS and getting smacked. Since my first char was Pinkal I didn't have any l33t high-hit Hunter weapons to pass down either. That's why I eventually picked a HUcaseal - solely for the accuracy. I played her without tweaks, right from the beginning with a saber and mag, and there has not yet been a point at which she has not owned.

Back to the HUmar... yeah, he is very average. It's a shame. I find him a bit boring, really... doesn't excel at everything, doesn't customise very much (although he technically DOES customise as much as everyone else, I'd say that two HUmars of different heights, builds and costumes together still look much more similar than two FOmars)... and I don't like a lot of his animations either. That was my experience, though I admit that I only ever had a low-level HUmar.

SangeYasha Wrote:A Hunewearl using Shifta lv20 and a HUmar using Shifta lv15, in the end a HUmar is stronger. Cause 5 lvs of shifta barely make any difference.
HUmar cannot use Shifta and Deband...

Engrish Wrote:One question...who is this Kefka guy and why is he so special?
I'm so special :O

Quote:Anyway, I have a HUmar, I am not a noob, he is at lvl 105, and they are better than HUneys because a hunter shouldn't depend on magic in my opinion
lol, someone has never tried a HUnewearl.

About HUmar, he sucks, he completely sucks, he is a deadweight to a team, and cannot solo properly.

He is by far the worst hunter, anything he does, the other hunters do better, that alone is enough to label him worst class in the game.

i agree totally, but does that mean that you think that hunters are the worst class in the game?

I like humars better than hucasts though because they have so little ata.
