I hope to have some decent luck later tonight... I played through Normal Seabed with my RAmarl/Greenill (level 28 at the time), found a Trigrinder and a Photon Drop. Not bad for Normal. I think maybe since this character seems to be having a lucky day, I'll pipe for whatever an Al Rappy gives me in Hard. I created that character partially for rifle hunting anyway - only rare rifle I have is one Wals-MK2 and it was given to me.

Well, I just need a Yamato or a Musashi to hold my HUnie for a while until I can get her some better stuff. I'll just make a few more runs and see what turns up.
I really want that Photon Launcher though. Probably sucks, but I'm getting tired of looking at my Custom Ray.

You don't have a Varista or something? I think they're slightly more powerful... because I have both... (many Varistas, two Custom Rays)
Well my theory was pretty much correct. I played the first three quests and then Fake in Yellow (didn't finish it though) hoping to find something cool. Before getting to the piping place, I got two Varistas from wolves, several mats and grinders, and a barta amp. Quite a coincidence. Then I got an Inferno Bazooka from the Al Rappy. Too bad I need more than 20 more ATA to use it... I tried piping for another one so my RAmar could have one, but I went through exactly 1000 rappies without success. So I guess my luck ran out...
I may just give it to the RAmar until this character can equip it. Is it any good? *Will go check stats momentarily to answer own question*

Sure it's good. If you like really slow guns that can hardly track a savage wolf and have huge recovery times.
And I've got about three varistas lying around, but no percentages on 'em, while the Custom Ray's got 30/15/0/0. Better than nothing.

M&A60 Vise for a Purplenum? Not extraordinary. I've got about 3 of them... and 2 L&K14 Combats... and like ten billion H&S25 Justices...

1/46 on Hard mode. I personally hate the things and hope I never see another one drop again.
On the whole, the haul for the day is a Photon Claw and an H&S25 Justice. All that to show for 2 and a half hours of piping for Love Rappies and Nar Lillies. Big whoop. What I really wanted were the Twin Psychoguns.

I'm pretty sure you just need to do it on a lucky day. I've sort of been following that theory - certain characters (or maybe all, I can't tell) find rares on certain days. It wasn't originally my theory, but a friend's, in response to my asking if he subscribed to the "time theory."
Case in point: October 25, early morning... I went for a run through that level, not for rares, and I found two pairs of Twin Psychoguns. Then later I went for another run and found a third... and then later, a fourth. Of these, I only had to pipe for the last one.
Speaking of luck, I just got a Red Handgun, whoo! After some frustration in Ult Mines (apparantly Lv. 85 just doesn't cut it) I opted for some mindless rappy slaughter - which meant, the Fake in Yellow of course. I found a Pal Rappy before ever getting to the usual piping place (and I wasn't even planning on piping). Anyone know what the max grind for this weapon is? I already took out 7 as soon as I got back and used them on it...
