But if the mother is told that her child won't live past the age of 12 then the mother should be given the option to terminate the birth. The Right of Death - whiteninja - 21-01-2005 "terminate", i hate that word! why don't you say "kill the baby" because that's what you mean! if you found out the baby wouldn't live to 12 after it was born you wouldn't kill it, would you? The Right of Death - Teh EkwEE - 22-01-2005 I'll state my opinion since I am remarkably detached from human life. A woman should be allowed to terminate her pregnancy up to 3 months. If you wanna' get technical about it then that child is not a sentient being it cannot think, it can feel pain, but then again so can bugs, and technically that child is a parasite.....you may not see it as such but it is. It feeds off its host(the mother) and doesn't even know it's alive till about 2-3 sometimes 1 year of age.As for rape........the sins of the father don't pass on the son/daughter. Incest well.........not right in any sense. Ummm the taking the life thing if I'm going to kill myself......I'm going out with style. Shot gun, small bomb, base jumping without a parachute. People are gonna' remember for a time how I went. That's if I ever should decide to commti suicide. But people should have some kind of help first. There is no life after death. If you end it all then that's it; then again you would never knew you existed if you commited suicide but whatever. The Right of Death - Kal - 22-01-2005 Exactly, but as for birth defects, i don't know...the three months thing is good, but if i had a chioce, i would'nt want a child of mine to disappled.not because it afects me but because a life of prodding and poking by doctors, and teasing by adluts, kids and people who don't understand the condition, that's not living, that's a slow death. The Right of Death - Archer - 22-01-2005 Abortions should be legal but limited to when certain conditions are met ie: rape etc. Aborting your child just because you can't afford to raise it isn't right. Put him/her up for adoption and atleast give them a chance at life. And killing a baby because they have some genetic flaw, disease, etc isn't right. They deserve the chance to live like everything else. This I agree with. After all, it's nicer to kill something before it's born than to let it live happily, and then tell it it's going to die. Of course, there is the fact that maybe in 12 years there'll be a cure for the problem... Teh EkwEE Wrote:Ummm the taking the life thing if I'm going to kill myself......I'm going out with style. That's attention seeking, I'd never do it like that. Leave a personal note. I wouldn't want everyone who's anyone to know about it. Also, that's dangerous, after all, it's not fair to take other people's lives. The Right of Death - Kal - 25-01-2005 For my report i read a story about a man who had a gene that caused his children to contract this deadly bone disease. 4 of them died before they were one, the 5 lived until he was 15, he was then diagniosed with a bone disease and given a few weeks to live, He lived three more months then requested medical suicide in the worst way, radiation inceniration. the father then goes oon to tell how his only living reletive was burnt away into no thing but bones. Sevral months later after finishing an auto biography, he himself suicide, a morphen over dose. Ur thoughts? The Right of Death - Faulkie - 25-01-2005 Surely living for 12 years is better than not living at all. The Right of Death - whiteninja - 27-01-2005 today in Los Angelos some guy tried to take his life BY PARKING ON THE TRAIN TRACKS. it caused an accident that killed 12 passengers but he survived and faces homicide charges. so to all of you who plan to go out in big way, realize that you could harm or kill other people who don't want to die The Right of Death - Blank Space - 27-01-2005 I agree on suicide being legal to an extent...but a very small extent. If someone if suffering in a hospital, with an incurable disease, let them decide if they want to live or die.Now if they're in the hospital for something like having your legs amputated? No way.Losing any body part would be very serious, but you can still live! You are giving me the empression that YOU'RE weak, taking the easy way out instead of dealing with a huge roadblock in life.People who are born missing body parts do,and they still manage Abortion, well I agree and disagree.I'll agree that if this child is diagnosed with a fatal disease, the mother should be able to have an abortion. If the woman is having a child that she can't support, abortion is the wrong answer. It'd be her fault, for letting it happen, and instead of abortion, she could put the child up for adoption. There are plenty of couples looking for a child to adopt,so why would they take the child's life away? Quote from a similar discussion at another forum.Author, superGOOB Quote:i myself was born with a defect. both of my kiddnys are fussed together on my right side. should i have been aborted? one of my closest friends was born with a heart deffect from a teenage woman on an indian reservation. he wasnt supposed to live. he is now a star track runner fo rhis highschool and a staight A/A- student. should he have been aborted. you see, pain isnt weakness leaving the body, its streangth coming in. if the child wants it, he will live. |
