Kefka and Omar, those are some really beautiful character screenshots. What console are you playing on and how did you achieve such high resolution and clarity? I am truly in awe.

We are using the in-game screenshot feature on the PAL Gamecube version. Apparantely the quality of the PAL screenshots is a lot higher than that of the US/JP ones as they had refined the feature for the PAL launch.

This is probably going to sound dumb, but I'll ask it anyways as I have not understood this for some time: What is PAL? Is this like a European version, or maybe a non region-specific version? If I can play it on my US Game Cube, where can I get a copy?

PAL=The EU/Aus version. If you want more in depth information then feel free to pm me.

It won't play on a US cube.

Thank you. I love Australia and this is just one more reason to live there I guess. Would it be wrong to mod my 'Cube so I could play this updated version?

Character Gallery - Omar - 24-05-2004

It isn't really updated. The only differences I can think of is the clarity of the screenshots and the labis bug fix. It isn't anything at all noticeable, so I wouldn't waste your time modding your console to play it. If you really want an updated version, then import PSO E1&2+ from Japan.

This probably isn't the thread to ask this on, but what is the Labis Bug?

To quote a post from PSOW that explains it much better than I could:

Okay, I've seen many people asking about the purpose of keeping a Lavis Cannon untekked, lately, and there is no guide to it, so here it is :

The special attack of the Lavis Cannon is a purple penetrating energy wave that consumes about 5% of your max HP that has about 60% the power of a weak attack and the low accuracy of a special attack.

Now if you do keep your Lavis Cannon untekked :
1) the special will not be visible, i.e. as if it was an invisible wave.
2) the special will not consume your HP with each shot.
3) the special will have the power of a hard attack, i.e. about 4 times as powerful as if you had tekked it.
4) the special will never miss.

Important note: this will not work with PAL European games, the glitch was fixed, an untekked Lavis Cannon special attack on a PAL game is the same as a hard attack, there is no "invisible wave"

So using an untekked Lavis Cannon is much more powerful, but is it considered cheating? And how do you know if you have an untekked Lavis Cannon? Don't all untekked items say ????
