ST added a patch to the Xbox version (which was then added to PSO+ prior to release and patched into PSOBB we assume) which made certain hacked items lower drop rates. This was their way of punishing people for using hacked items, though simply banning the items would be much more helpful to the legit community.

If your character has a mag equipped that exceed stat totals over 200 it will be "detectad" and your drop %age for finding any rares is somewhere just about the same as finding a j-sword. If thmag is in the bank , and you've shut down and restarted your box after depositing it, the you find rares again, until you pull it out of the bank. This was a "fix" that xbox team puts in when you "update" your game.
Making a 1300+ Kama is for people who wants to use a mag cell on it so the can have a hacked mag of their choice. There's several mags "available" to use mag cells on.

Ok Omar i didnt know that. But surely if you hack items u wont give a crap what happens to your drop chances. You just hack what you want instead!
