Yes, but unless I am too weary from school to think, doesn't the PB earned determine the ability used on the character? (ie: boss, reverser abilities)

Actually it's the Mag's IQ that determines ability. Synchro determines how often that ability is used whenever the relevant criteria are met.

I thought that Synchro determined the charge rate of your PB, IQ determined the chance of the ability being used, and the MAG's type determined the abilities it had?

Ask an unclear question, get an unclear answer. Hopefully this will be clearer (as if).
Synchro does determine PB charge, true. It also increases the likelihood of a special ability being used.
IQ, according to my own research with particularly bright and particularly dumb Kaitabhas, kinda "unlocks" (if it is the right word to use) the Mag's abilities. That's why it pays to have a Mag with 200 IQ (which is 145 points higher than Homer J. Simpson, I might add)
Type determines which abilities are available at any given time. A Diwari might use Resta or S/D when a Soniti uses invincibility.

Synchro also determines how much damage your PB will do. The higher your Synchro, the higher the damage.

I am currently working on a rare mag...Diwari...it's only level 40 right now...60 levels to go... :'( ...lol...so wish me good luck on getting it...
