far away. if it flies, keep shooting it with unpowered shots (you wont miss then, and also it cant really hurt you when its flying so you can take as long as you want).

Plus if you hit it in the air it tends to land exactly where it flew up in the first place.

Twin swords + god/battle works for me, the speed of the weapon seems to work exactly with the dragon and you should get the entire combo in even if it tries to take off, and by the end of the combo its dead (for me anyway
)
