No Offline Multiplayer - Mirinee - 25-10-2006 It's like PSOBB. Not even the console versions have offline multiplayer. This is awful news for people with siblings/real-life friends who often play PSO offline multiplayer, people like me. :'( No Offline Multiplayer - pink - 25-10-2006 I never really expected them to make offline multiplayer anyways. The original PSO's offline multiplayer was fairly buggy and often slowed down when you had 3 or 4 people, so I can only imagine how poorly PSU would run with 4 people running around on the same screen. No Offline Multiplayer - Mirinee - 25-10-2006 Offline multiplayer gaming is the reason why I own a console in the first place. Yes, in PSO GC there were slowdowns and awful camera angles, no offline quests (don't have Plus :S) and less useful weapons for Challenge mode, but after not being able to play online, I found myself playing almost exclusively on the offline multiplayer. I've watched some videos of the gameplay, and ... surely the graphics aren't all that demanding. Those consoles/new computers are meant to be "powerful". >_< *In the mood to complain about stuff :S* No Offline Multiplayer - Moonwraith - 25-10-2006 The graphics shouldn't be all that demanding, but even with one player there's slowdown on PS2 apparently. Plus offline isn't really set up for more than one human player anyway. No Offline Multiplayer - pink - 25-10-2006 There could at least be offline Extra Mode... but yeah, unless Sega found a far more efficient way to set up split-screen play to minimize slowdowns... it simply wasn't going to happen. No Offline Multiplayer - RebelMaren - 25-10-2006 Could come up with some sort of Crystal Chronicles-esqu barrier, that keeps the team bound together on one screen, think Phantasy Star Powerstone. No Offline Multiplayer - Lee-yoshi - 25-10-2006 That's pretty lame how there's no PSU offline multiplayer! Oh well, can't have everything i guess!

Seems to me that they're just buggering up the PS2 version so that people will either buy the 360, or the PC version after playing it and realising how crap the PS2 version is. Maybe I won't buy it after all... No Offline Multiplayer - pink - 25-10-2006 Well out of all the systems the PS2 has by far the least amount of power... so slow-downs can't really be helped. But hey, PSO slowed down all the time. XD Barba Ray anyone? As for a Crystal Chronicles style of play... that'd get rid of have the fun of offline multiplayer, being able to split up and take all the sections of the level, then combine for the hard parts... also... imagine how annoying it'd make bosses! And yeah, there's a few things about PSU that aren't as good as I'd like it to be, but acceptable nontheless. Can't have your cake and eat it too. XD No Offline Multiplayer - nomercy - 25-10-2006 Which is my point. I'm partially hating them for bringing it out that way. They must be cutting things from it that are in the other two versions. I mean, the PC version is a 10GB file, and the disks that PS2 use are, if i'm correct, only 4.7GB. |
