The Item DB needs your images! - Moonwraith - 07-11-2006 I don't want to spam the Item DB with my characters, so here's your chance to really get involved with the Database, by sending in your images. Images I would really like - Weapon images, images of Units or Armor with visible effects (including but not limited to SUV Units), or any image that has some visible element. Don't bother with images showing the stats of an item or whatever at the moment, that's what the rest of the page is for. If other staff members feel we should accept these then that's cool, I just don't think it's necessary =P I would prefer to have the full .bmp file sent to me or hosted. If you cannot host a full .bmp without it being resized, mail it to me at [email protected], or convert it yourself - preferably to png format, as jpg is too low-quality. If you do decide to convert and crop, the resulting file must be no more than 500kb in size. Here are a few basic guidelines (that I totally didn't rip and adapt from Hrith's topic asking for PSO items on the official boards): * PC pictures only, I doubt very much the quality of PS2/XBOX360 pictures will be worth it. Feel free to prove me wrong if you really, really, think they are though (and have a decent method of capturing images). * 1024x768 minimum resolution at medium settings at least. Make sure post-effects are turned ON. * Each item has only one slot for an image, so make it a good one. It must show the subject of the image clearly - the HUD musn't get in the way. I won't tell you what makes a good image, I'm sure most of you can figure that out easily enough on your own. One good picture is worth more than a million bad ones. * Credit will be given for the image. If you wish to be credited under a different name do tell me... otherwise I will use your forum account name. * You should only have the item equipped and nothing else if possible. The point of the image is to show the item in question and nothing else that would distract from it. This includes your character - make the item the main focus, not the character. * If getting a weapon image, do manipulate the camera in order to get a better view of the weapon. Going up to a wall and rotating the camera often helps to get a nice, zoomed-in view of the weapon. This is what I, personally, consider to be a decent weapon picture. But you can do better than that ;o I will naturally accept images for weapons that are not currently in the database, but I won't make a database entry just to show your image, so don't be offended if I don't add your image right away. Finally, submitting an image doesn't mean it will be used, but if it's good then you stand a good chance, and it's not like there's a shortage of items that requires pictures. Hop to it! ![]() Items that no longer require images None currently. The Item DB needs your images! - Poo Fly - 06-12-2006 hows this Moon? if its alright, and when i get access to it, i'll add each weapon's and items picture in as i come across them ![]()
The Item DB needs your images! - Moonwraith - 06-12-2006 Looks very good to me, Poo Fly. I'll point out that it's best if images are square-ish rather than rectangular though, because the thumbnails tend to look a bit weird. Very good stuff though. I should probably take some pictures of my own. The Item DB needs your images! - Poo Fly - 06-12-2006 oh yeah, i'll make sure they're square
The Item DB needs your images! - pink - 06-12-2006 So we just post them in this thread right? If so, I've got a bunch of screenshots to take. XD The Item DB needs your images! - pink - 06-12-2006 Sorry about the double-post, I just want to draw attention to this particular post since I've got a bunch of weapon screenshots in it. I'll put the name of the weapon above each, and then add the thumbnails under it.Breaker: ![]() Crozara: ![]() Dagger of Serafi: (2 Images) ![]() Death Dancer: ![]() Granarod: ![]() Nightwalker: ![]() Powergun: (2 Images) ![]() Ran-Misaki: (2 Images) ![]() Twin Powergun: ![]() Two-headed Ragnus: (2 Images) ![]() That's all so far. As you can see I posted more than one image for some weapons... this is merely because for some, I could get a better looking picture if I went just a tad outside the guidelines at the top of the page, and for others, it was merely for a more interesting view. Double Sabers are going to be a real pain to get a decent image of since they're so wide... as you can see my Nightwalker image isn't even anywhere close to being square, and it's not a very good picture... I imagine I could get a better angle with the buggers if I use Lou's double-saber PA to get the weapon into a better pose. Crozara... it's an interesting view for the weapon, so I'll see what you think of it... the hard part was getting that picture taken during the split second that the weapon wasn't glowing from casting Resta. Hopefully some of those are to your liking, I'll take some more screenshots later if you'd like. EDIT: Also... props to anyone that can figure out which two images I doctored to get rid of tiny bits of the HUD.
The Item DB needs your images! - Kitsadoodles - 06-12-2006 Once I get the game working on my computer and can tae pictures, I will Shirley send in some pics for the database! Just let me know if there are any specific pictures you think we need the most, and I'l try my best! The Item DB needs your images! - Poo Fly - 06-12-2006 that look pretty good to me pink i find it hard getting nice close ups, most of the time when you back the camera into a wall, like you did on pso, it just goes overhead :x The Item DB needs your images! - Moonwraith - 07-12-2006 They look very good to me, I'll get a better look at them tomorrow though, hopefully, my connection at the moment is painfully slow (useless ISP). Yeah, Double Sabers are difficult to get good pictures of, I found that myself. Poo Fly, sometimes you have to kinda force the camera to get a good view. I control my camera with an analog stick and I force the camera down, it usually works but sometimes it gets stuck and you can't get a good view. The Item DB needs your images! - Poo Fly - 07-12-2006 is there a way of controlling the camera via keyboard? Besides the centre camera button? i'll find a way of getting them good either way
