I just bought it for PS2, but we're not online. I was wondering if it even is worth it offline, or if there's even an offline mode you can play. I guess I got spoiled by PSO....but we're going to not open the game until we can decide if it's decent offline. Any help is appreciated! Thanks~

there is the full offline story mode, and also an extra mode after completing chapter 4 of the story mode, where you get to create your own character and stuffs
the only downside is that you cannot play it multiplayer offline :x

It's a pretty enjoyable offline experience. If it's good for anything it's practicing for when you get online. The story isn't so bad either, so I say go ahead and play it.

Yeah, the practice and story are both definitely worth it! Plus, its always fun to have more places to play, be it in story mode, network or extra mode!

But you need to complete the Offline Mode to play Online with your own characters?

Yeah, and the offline extra mode and network mode are completely separate, sadly meaning that you can't take extra mode characters online and vice versa.

Anything after that is just extra unlockables for you extra mode character. Like new areas, and such. And if I must say so myself the story mode is wuite enjoyable, and listen to the banter at the end of the credits...so cheezey!!

Story is interesting, though I found it funny how much quicker one earns meseta and exp in the story compared to online. But it was interesting to see the weapon types not available in the online mode just yet as well as the last planet Moatoob.

Oh, I find that SO annoying! And also, the fact that monomates cost almost twice as much and restore half the HP online, it makes me want to muder Ethan for being so lucky! That'd change the story a bit, now wouldn't it?
Oh yeah, and I just got to Moatoob offline the other day, and the clothing is a LOT worse offline! But I'm so in love with extra mode right now!
