Well, I got this just a little earlier, for the PC, and have played it for roughly 40 mins. The start was a little slow... The music seemed less good and I didn't like Ethan at all - overall, a dissapointment, what happened to the Phantasy Star I used to love?!

However, since getting weapons, it's awesome! It's like PSO, only the action is even better! Can't wait to try it online a bit later when I've got more time!

Awww...*Reads on* Yay! Tongue

Good to hear the overall impression of PSU on everyone is fairly good Smile

Eh, I've certainly seen far worse voice actors. (Baiten Kaitos for the GCN anyone? XD) and I've said it before and I'll say it again... Ethan is a dork! (Thus I give him a nickname... "Ethan Wanker"... it's popular amongst friends of mine who also play PSU. Tongue)

The game's more about gameplay than story construction, so enjoy it! This kitty still has a little while to go before she can play online.

i got it! Big Grin
i was a little shaky at first, but its pretty easy to pick up, and so far its pretty cool, i'm at the beginning of chapter three now and awaiting my brother to vacate the pc to carry on Tongue i'm still very curious of the extra mode, and synthesis, and stuffs, oh, and i found my first rare :3 a vahra nail, can't do anything with that yet.
the only problems i had with the voice acting is through the vol brothers, they worry me :x everyone else is fine Smile
i'll get online soon, but i want to play through the offline story and some extra mode. and i dont want to abandon the rest of team ragol :S tough choices.

Online it lags so much. Dear God it lags! *shivvers* Party forming is a little anarchic sometimes

PSU - First impressions - Mirinee - 24-11-2006

Hopefully the lag will go away later, since lots of people in Europe would be playing it today, on its day of launch.

I went to the game shop today and had a long look at its box and couldn't help but notice that the two Newman girls with purple hair look really alike! They must be from the same "batch" of cloning or something XD. Also, the Cast on the back of the cover has those lines just under his eyes, just like on this android, Wren:
[Image: 06d4a4a0.gif] That means it could be possible to make a PS4 Wren tribute character, Smile!

That's like the first negative reaction I've heard so far. Tongue ...I eventually put the box back, because I'm not able to connect to Gameguard to be able to play it right now (my internet is heavily firewalled) so I won't torture myself by buying it. Anyway, I hear it doesn't have FOmar in it. XD

Have fun, everyone else!
*Sigh, all this waiting, and then all of a sudden I'm not in a hurry anymore...*

Played online - didn't lag for me too much.

It was very empty though! Nobody was in any lobby, and it took me a while to find my way to 'Maotoob' or somewhere, where I went through with some lvl. 40 guy (so yeah, a bit beyond me but quite fun nonetheless).

Hopefully I'll get used to the new lobby system and work out how to find people!

Pretty good so far. I got really mad though, due to getting to chapter 3, selecting save, and getting a screen I hate. 'File is corrupted, please delete'. T__T so i'm back down to chapter two with an official PS2 memory card which I laboured over to get enough space on. (4191 KBS!!!!)

First impresions:-
- Games graphics are too high for most players and damands alot of CPU and video memory, I used to run BB on near max settings and suffered no log until I went higher then 800x600 res, on PSU my settings are all on mid-low and res is stuck at 640x480 which is annoying the hell outta me. To upgrade my PC means getting a totally differant PC >.>
AMD Sempron 3400+ (2.0GHz) 1GB of RAM, Geforce 6200 (128-256MB Ram)
- As stated the V.A isnt exactly great but I can ignore that.
- The price of items is a little off putting at first.

+ Getting past that it turns into a second PSO for me and the controls are decent battle movment is a blessing, and game play is interesting.
+ Character design is great, not as much detail as Oblivion but better then most moRPGs.

- Lack of Telepipes, would be nice to goto town/weapon shops upgrade and go back to the middle of Parum without doing first stage again.

- I had a slight run in with a sad team of High Lvls kicking me out of their run just because I was a Lowbie, only wanted to get to end of first area on Parum to join a friends Da Ragon run.

People should start out in the Linear Line until lv2-3 if not in a group, you know the place where story mode started.

Anyway there is alot of good things going for PSU that I havnt mentioned, just mentioned the main things I'm unhappy with personally.
If you havnt already, go out and get it and get online!

I love it. The story mode is fun, and at times very annoying, but I like it anyway. Yes, the voice acting can get a bit annoying, but the only people whose voices actualy bother me are Ethan and Hal! (Gosh darn her!!!) The story is cute and actiony, and I like it! Plus, the characters are extremely loveable... well, at least the ones you're supposed to love!
I love the extra mode. It is one cool feature! It really takes a load off of my mind to know that if I can't deal with the super annoyingly hard online mode, I can always play the seemingly easy extra mode and develope my character there! Online is tons of fun though, yet complicated, and it really emphasises teamwor since each class can only use their own weapons and techniques. I'm abslutely in love with this game, the good times and the bad!
