Part 1 - Rati_Ross - 24-11-2006

Finally it is finished and im sure you will agree it was worth the wait, clouds artwork is ace Smile

Starting at the foot of the forest, the bloody trail of carnage and destruction began. Following the stained grass deep into the forest past the bloody river arteries, there was no sign of life. In fact the only sign that life had been here was the entrails of a rappy attached to the three tail feathers of this cute but deadly bird. It wasn't clear what had done this, but they were slightly singed. The air stank of burnt flesh so foul that the birds that once roamed the skies above dropped at the slightest whiff of it.

The trail continued deep into the caves, the normal damp smell was covered up by an even greater smell. It wasn't clear where this was coming from until your eye caught the ivory bones in the corner. Then you truly smell the rotting jelly.........What could have done this?

At last we arrive at the mines, a masterpiece of technical advancement, but also a masterpiece of what can go wrong. The normal sound of beeps of robots going about their business, the humming of cooling fans and squeak of unoiled parts was instead replaced with a deadly silence. As we continue down through the mines, through the exploded walls, damaged computers it makes you wonder. Could this be the work of a vast army of men? but you are cut short as a huge chunk of metal and wires falls from the ceiling above, narrowly missing you. Then the lights go out. Something must have failed, you are trapped in the darkness all alone, nothing can save you now...or can it? Out of the corner of your vision you spot something glowing. Luckily or perhaps unluckily you have spotted a glowing trail of a strange substance. You analyse the substance.

"Analysing substance.........beep...beep....beep....two possible matches found. Removing least likely, according to surroundings........Substance is photon fluid, probably from damaged armour"-mag

You decided to follow the trail through the dark as you must carry on, even if it mean facing your fears (fears you know you shouldn't have).

After about four hours travel, you finally arrive at the ruins. You sense your journey is near its end and then judging by the increase of fresh blood and the smell of smoke still in the air you know you are close. Scanning for traps you notice two damage traps and a frost trap, probably to trap you. Or to kill any monster trailing whoever left the traps, not wanting to find out you quickly move along. Until you reach a massive reinforced door. You can sense it behind there, you know you must go through the door because the trail ends here there were mutated creatures splattered against the walls around the room, a brutal battle happened here. Before you can open the door there is a bright flash and then it is normal again except there he was in front of you.

A face with many stories to tell, eyes that were glazed over and hardened because of what they had seen. Black hair with streaks of red, stained by the battles he had fought. Armour covered in blood dripping gashes, one across his chest and two more on his back (probably attacked by a surprise attack from behind). He had broad shoulders and a stern expression on his face. No this wasn't the villain this was the hero here to save the human race............ but if human life is capable of this much destruction is it worth saving....

"We must go......follow" he grunted.

He has always been a man of few words, some people even thought he was a machine at one point but this blood proves he is not. Anyway, I will take this time to fill you in on a few things. Scientists have made a new way to train hunters where your mind is implanted into a mag. Basically they infuse your mind with the mags and you follow a highly trained hunter to get experience. This all started when hunters were unprepared when the explosion happened, the government, not wanting to take any risks decided this was the only way to train new hunters safely. Oh, by the why just so you know I am actually Kur-kin’s mag and I will document and narrate the quests as you go along.

"you coming or what!" said an angry Kur-kin.

We had better go; you do not want to see him when he is angry. We followed along behind Kur-kin, he was limping probably from the battles a short time before, until we got to the teleporter. Just as we were about to go through it kur-kin got a call.

"Hunter 3102 Kur-kin come in" beeped a robotic voice.

"What" he grunted (told you he was a man of few words).

"Has prototype codenamed 409 arrived?" the voice asked.

"Yes" he replied

"Good because your assistance is urgently needed by an exploration group we sent to analyse a strange sap in the forest. The sap is meant to cause the forest monsters to get a lot stronger and even more violent. It does this by getting into their blood stream and then entering their brain, from the brain it cause the monster to release more adrenalin which in turn causes it to ,for some strange reason, mutate into a stronger more deadly version of what it was before. It can only do this if it is exposed to the animal via being touched or eaten, so watch out, it also affects humans. However, we do not know by how much yet. I will fax you through to the last contact with the team now.”

“Message incoming.......message received, decoding information......decoded and streaming in 3.....2......1”

“All is going well we have collected samples of the sap and are heading back. Helllllllllllllp! Huh where did Dan go? No it cant be how is this possible??argh request....ing..help....we ...are at.......”

“lets go” Kur-kin grunted (you think hmmm with all this grunted maybe he is a beast)

“Kur-kin wait I advise you not to go rushing in until you know where to go” said his mag

“fine”

“Searching for location of last incoming call....processing data......location forest 1. Scanning area for life forms........done.......3 hunters found possibly trapped and the other 3 are dead.”-mag

“Lets go now! Or do you want people to die!”

(inside mag we talk)

“Does he always get this angry?”-you

“Yeah it’s a side affect.....”-mag

“Of what?”-you

“Don’t worry all new hunters get it”-mag

(End convo)

Suddenly a blinded light appears, and then it is gone. You look around and you see a room, a room with many computers and tanks filled with bubbling water. Inside the tank, you see five hunters, four you have not seen before and as for the other one. One looks very much like Kur-kin but it was very hard to tell because your vision is blurred. Almost as if your looking through a tank yourself......then you spot two scientists talking you can just about make out their mumbling.

“Are you sure we should be doing this it goes against all the laws of nature, I don’t think we just be doing this.”

“Yes I’m sure we need to do this to survive and after all it worked with newmans and beasts didn’t it, but we need something stronger now”

“*sigh* I know it is are only hope”

The blinding light hit you again then all was black.

“Oi move it!” shouted a strange voice from afar.

Then your vision came back, blurry at first but then back to normal. The voice was Kur-kins he was waiting at the telepipe. We hovered over to the telepipe and he went through.

“Are you ready?” I said (the mag)

“I don’t think the question is are we ready, I’ve seen his work, the question is are they ready for us?” you said smugly but I knew you were nervous.

We went through the pipe and then it was gone.

Preview of part 2- suspicious sap

We were out numbered and out gunned when then ambushed us but Kur-kin was ready.
He drew is sabre as they jumped out at us. The first had no chance because kur-kin had sliced him in half as he jumped. The second also had no chance as he was killed before the first ones blood had hit the floor. Kur-kin was killing them thick and fast but they just kept coming........

(i think i mixed some of the pics up cloud coreect me if i did plz Smile thx and i dont know if i missed one out cos i saved them all over the place lol)

Part 1 - Mirinee - 25-11-2006

Picture stories are the best. Fanart + fanfiction! Such a good idea. I love Cloud's artwork. You got your plan drawn out for the rest of the story? If not, make one now, and then write all of it! That'd be great fun to read. Wink Well done so far.

Part 1 - Rati_Ross - 25-11-2006

so do you want me to do a plan for the whole thing and then do sections or just do the whole thing in one big go ?

Part 1 - Mirinee - 25-11-2006

It depends on how long you plan the whole thing to be. If you're sure you know where you're going with the story and you know how it's going to finish, then you don't need to plan. All up to you, of course. All us readers really want is a good structured story, and by asking you to plan in advance, it decreases the chance of you suddenly losing interest/not knowing where to go next and discontinuing it, which would be awful since it's making quite a promising start. ;D

Part 1 - Rati_Ross - 25-11-2006

hmm ill make a plan cos i have a rough idea but a plan would help and i should finish part 2 by tomorrow and ill post it once cloud had done the pictures ok Smile but ill keep writing so i dont lose erm interest kk Smile
