Sprite Comic - WIP - Beat X500 - 07-12-2006 I've been thinking about making a sprite comic for some time now but I've been stuck on an idea of what to do, what themes to use, serious or funny etc. So I've been reading a few and decided to do a pretty humorous comic but one that follows a story line. I'm going to set it in the PSO Universe (read PSO Universe, not PSUniverse ).Only problem is, I'm having abit of writers block coming up with an idea. My first, well only, idea is having 4 main characters that begin on the Pioneer, and the comic follows them as they travel through the many areas of the PSO Episodes, uncovering the truths and secrets laid out before them... :O I found a bunch of sprites online but I'm not sure there totally suitable for a comic, as the way they are "drawn" is kind of isometrically. (See below). If anyone here can provide some sprites, please post them or PM them to me, I'd really appreciate it. Also, feel free, in fact - please give me any ideas, feedback on anything you think would be cool as it would help me alot. Oh, and when I do start making it, I plan to put a (comic) strip out 3 times a week, say Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Thanksies, and let me know what you think. nb, sprites are copyright Phantasy Star Cave Sprite Comic - WIP - Rati_Ross - 07-12-2006 sounds sweet liek i told you on msn man i cant wait to see it ....it will rule cos i know you will put your heart and soul into it ....just dotn take me literatly on that (i cant spell )
Sprite Comic - WIP - Reigast - 07-12-2006 Rather than using sprites, you could use screenshots from PSO, and then maybe put speech bubbles over it? It'd make it a more original idea then. Concerned (a half-life 2 webcomic) used a similar idea, but it's still a lot less seen than the sprite comic idea. Sprite Comic - WIP - pink - 07-12-2006 Concerned had the advantage of a mod that allowed to place whatever they wanted, anywhere they wanted... thus making structuring actual scenes very simplistic... PSU doesn't have such a mod, so I think the sprite comic idea would work best. Sprite Comic - WIP - Kitsadoodles - 07-12-2006 That sounds like a fun idea! I'd really like to see the finished product! I thought it would be a bit weird to use sprites since PSO doesn't actually use sprites but meh. Whatever floats your boat. I know it'll be great whatever you do! Good luck!
Sprite Comic - WIP - Poo Fly - 08-12-2006 i remember that! good stuff sprites would be great, but you would have to work in backgrounds to fit them too, screenshots would require you to just locate and set up the stuff on screen, but doesnt allow "out of game" stuff happening ( unless you edit the screenshots, easy enough ^^ ) Sprite Comic - WIP - Beat X500 - 08-12-2006 I thought of using screenshots but I'd need other people to hang around online with, do various expressions and stances etc - plus I don't have a copy of the games to play at the moment, so it'd be quite hard ![]() I decided on sprites as I've just fallen in love with sprite comics lately, plus it means I don't have to rely too heavily on anything/anyone else to get a strip finished. All I need is Photoshop, sprites and some wacky ideas! Anyway, by the time I get back online I'm sure I'll have plenty to show you guys
