I've been reading stuff and notice in peoples signatures and conversations that there are classes like fortefighter, fighgunner, wartecher, etc. What I was wondering is if those classes are for online only? Or can you get them after a certain point in extra mode? I've beaten the story mode and have a lvl 39 beast lvl 10 hunter on extra mode that I wanted the special class for. Thnx for your time and patience with my noob questions.

i dont think so, because you can already use powerful weapons with basic jobs offline, while online you need the special jobs to use A or S rank(or is it just S?).

There's only the three basic classes offline. All three classes can use S rank weapons in all weapons related to the class, and B rank weapons in most of the rest.
As for online, expert classes provide A and S rank weapons. Basic classes can only go up to B.
One of the more important distinctions between on and offline, offline all PAs can be raised to level 30 no matter what class you are. Online, PA levels are very limited depending on the chosen class.
