What do you recommend for my beast... - Shiva - 30-01-2007

Hi!!! Well, my beast is right now level 6 hunter, but I don't know really if would be better reach to level 10 and become Fortefighter or make a Fighgunner.... ranged weapons don't like much to me, but I LOVE the double blades (as you saw on PSOBB xD). Also Fighgunners can use all the hunter weapons except axes (but really this don't care to me), but a fortefighter surely will be more stronger.

I don't know what to do!!!!!!!! I need some advice about this 2 jobs: what do you think that is better? What do you recommend for a beast?

It depends on your preferrences really there Shiva. A Beast's main weakness is ATA... and a Fortefighter doesn't get all that much ATA. The easiest way to put it is like this...

Fortefighter: Physically stronger (HP, DFP, ATP), but lower ATA and more difficulty dealing with flying creatures. Can use Axes, but not Double Sabers.

Fighgunner: Physically weaker, but gives a bit more ATA to help out a Beast. Twin Handguns can help with any flying enemies.

Either would be fine for a Beast, but what's most important is for you to pick whichever you would find the most fun.

I would say finish the Hunter lvls, so you will be able to become either class if you decide you dont like one of them. Bruce B runs is a very easy way to get ms pts and the normal classes lvl up much faster than the advanced ones.

Only problem with Bruce anything runs is the general high-stress level of runs with random people... and it's hard enough getting into a party if you're not level 25+.

Try and meet up with friends you know, even A rank on B runs is good pts, though low characters have to watch out for the Bears.

Fortefighter and Fighgunner do have fairly different stats, but the weapon selections aren't that much off from each other. In terms of mega-awesome weapons, Forte gets Axes, while Figh gets Double-Sabers. Those are also the only two classes that get those two weapons! Either way, you beast could work out fine, seeing as Fighgunner is way more figh than gunner, and Forte is way more HU than anything! Just go with what you like best, either would be great. Just pick the stats and weapons you like best.

Well, if I can choose, I preffer fast weapons like daggers or claws. Axes are very powerful, but slows... also fortefighters have 3 PA combo in some of HU weapons..... I like the combos.... ^O^

Maybe I'll reach Hunter level 10, and then comparing the stats between this 2 jobs, I'll decide.

Thanks for your opinions guys, all are very appreciated Smile

Fighgunners also have full-length PA chains, with their access to Lv 30 Skills. They also get Lv 20 Bullets, which, combined with the high base Status Apply on Crossbows and Twin Handguns, leaves them second to only the Fortegunner and possibly the Guntecher at applying status ailments. In addition, Fighgunners get access to S-Grade Daggers, Dual Daggers, Sabers, Dual Sabers, and Double Sabers, and also have access to claws.

Fortefighters get S-Grade Axes, Swords, Spears, Claws and Dual Claws at least, and I may have missed some other equipment they get.

Remember though, if you try Fortefighter, that it's at its weakest at level 1 (well, no kidding, but stick with me here.) As you progress in character levels and class levels, the very small difference in ATP that you initially see between Fortefighter and Fighgunner really starts to increase, as well as DFP. I tried Fighgunner for a while 'cause of the full-30-PA chains, and the promise of 20 cap bullets, but what it lacked to me was efficiency at what -I- like to do most... hit things with sharp objects. Smile

Keep in mind, that all melee PA's in fact cost LESS for a FFighter than they do for anybody else. For example, Buten Shuren-Zan is 15 PP normally, 12 PP for FF. Dus Daggas, the Spear PA, is 18 for everybody, 14 for FF. The other single dagger PA is 9 PP, and I'm not sure since I never use it but I think the twin dagger PA is 9 or 10 PP for a FF.

Also, if I switched back to Fighgunner at this point, I think I saw that I'd lose like 140 ATP, a few hundred HP and a good ammount of DFP. Of course I'm level 5 in one and 2 in the other, but still. If you like hitting things with weapons, a lot, then FF is for you. If you like lots of variety and stuff, then go with Fighgunner. Hope this helped some. Smile

One last thing! Double Saber's normal attack pattern hits up to 4 targets... if you're smart and effective with that weapon, you can charge up your meter VERY quickly, I've found.

BTW Baruk - it turned out 18% Tongue Hopefully see you on this afternoon.

Ooh, snazzy. There goes my Sucker/Raygun combo, then. Maybe switch the gun with my Cubo Upinde occasionally...

Also, Fighgunners obviously get more ATA than Fortefighters, since they're part Ranger. It really all comes down to whether you like lots of fast, average-damage attacks that are nearly guaranteed to hit (Double Saber), or prefer a few, slow, inaccurate strikes that really hurt when they do hit home (Axe).

Personally, since I like Swords and Spears as well as Double Sabers, my style falls somewhere between the two.
