How do you choose your gear?

EDIT: Does anyone check the trade forum? Ever? x.x

I go by: What i find most fun > Appearance > Function, theres no way im gonna play my characters if i dont like them, or what they use :p

if possible i'd try and mix them, on PSOBB my favourite weapon was a cross scar, thats fun over function, definately, but i didnt go for a normal cross scar, i tried for, and recieved, one of the best Tongue at 100/30/0/0/30 so that added a little functionality Smile

EDIT: the trade forums arent that popular, and judging from your thread, i dont think it'd get too many replies anyways, thats a hefty frozen shooter you are after :p

Ah, I'm the opposite. I get fun out of maximum functionality, and hunt weapons to suit. My characters may not be the prettiest, but that's what artful screenshots are for. xD

It never hurts to ask, at least. Someone is already working on contacting a person who has a similar one, but just in case, I'm posting everywhere.

funciont first

many times i try to change the char and mag to combine with the weapon, not change the weapon to combine the char.
funcion, i i have chosen appearence i would be stuck in ultimate for sure

Ah, I definitely choose fun-ness over all of those, but function I guess ties more into fun-ness than appearence. I need my good weapons to be strong, but only if they're fun good weapons!

It's interesting that there are actually others here who like functionality. Rumor has it that a long time ago you could be banned for saying that some weapons are more functional than others. Any truth in that? :/

Function or appearance? - Poo Fly - 01-02-2007

being banned for opinions? nah, a distorted truth taken out of context, maybe Tongue
it all depends on play style, different weapons would work well, or not well depending on the player using them :3

I'm moreso thinking of specific examples...such as certain weapons statistically doing more damage than other weapons (certain Mechguns, on Hunters); certain weapons being faster than other weapons (Needles to Shots); certain weapons not being as accurate as one may think (say...J-Cutter). Undeniable things of that sort.

But perhaps it was only a rumor.

stating the advantages of those is fine, go make a thread on it if you'd like, as long as a load of arguements dont erupt, then its all good :p
as for those examples, any mechguns can be devastating on a hunter, but i know what you are on about there, a needle may be faster, but it lacks much power, and as for j cutter, that worked fantastically on my racaseal XD i can argue for and against each weapon and item on the game, but i wouldnt let it get out of hand :p

Anyways, back on this topics topic :p

Tough choice, so I won't pick. There are some items which are both, but those are usually rare, rare, rare! So. Depends how I'm feeling, but most of the time, I choose 'fun', and appearance can be part of the fun, but when I'm serious or when my team is serious, I can't say no to function and I'll get annoyed if others mess around too.

It's not just weapons either, it's MAGs too. It's good to be able to change just like that. Love PSO.

I don't check the trade forum. Tongue
