Do you craft?? - magicman34 - 04-02-2007 I finally decide to upgrade my Casts guns from the 6+ blasters I've been using. I didn't want to go ott as I know the higher the weapon, the more it costs to recharge. I tried to get my 100% range PM to make me a crossbow and it failed, I got a dimate instead, so not impressed. I then went for a set of 6 new rifles and picked the Falcon board as i had most of wot i needed to make them. You get offered the option to use par ash or kabara wood, so being the higher star rating i went fo kabara wood. The sucess rate dropped from 79% to 61%, but I thought well at least I'm gonna get a better weapon using kabara. Boy was I wrong. out of 9 attempts only 4 were a success, and the resulting riflic I got has worse stats than the falcon. I don't understand, surely using higher * materials should give you better weapons. Have I missed something or have i just wasted time, items and money. Do you craft?? - Namillus - 04-02-2007 You've missed a big something: The Riflic's Kubara. Kubara grind like nobody's business. Also, the black/grey paint job is just badass, right? I'm patiently awaiting Dulk Fakis, so I can buy Kubara Blade boards after him. I must've broke at least 12 weapons trying to get about 8 C rank weapons to the 6th grind when I had level 3 luck. XD Darn you Sega! But yeah... general rule of thumb... using better materials won't get you a better weapon overall, it'll just make sure you get the weapon the board is made for. Using Kubara Wood at any point will produce a Kubara product... which always have lower stats and success rates, but much like Namillus said... grind that sucker a few times and its stats go up like there's no tomorrow... but due to how much I hate grinding... I tend to avoid them. XD I tend to always just buy stuff from Player Shops now though, because I don't like synthing when the rates are so low. They better allow a PM to go above level 100... cause it's a real pain trying to synth anything higher than a 4-star weapon. Do you craft?? - magicman34 - 05-02-2007 Well my C rank Blaster are done to +6, and I only lost 1, that was on my +3 lucky day. So you are saying I should be able to take the Riflics higher than that without chance of failure?? After all it's taken to get them, last thing I want to do is loose them grinding. But yes, you're right about the paint job, defo one of the better looking weapons I've come across so far. Do you craft?? - Namillus - 05-02-2007 No, you still grind the Riflic as though it were a B-Rank weapon, but it gets better stats per grind. Do you craft?? - pink - 05-02-2007 Oi... the wording being used in this topic is confusing the heck out of me. XD I'm losing track of what in the blazes is being asked! The only thing that effects the success of grinding is daily luck, and the + rating on your grinders. That's it. Do you craft?? - magicman34 - 05-02-2007 Sorry, that's probably my fault, but I think I have the jist of it now. When I refered to my C rank Blaster +6, I mean I have done the grind process 6 times, not that I use a +6 grinder on it. The question was, From a Falcon Board, why did I get a weapon with worse stats buy using kabara wood which has a higher * rating instead of the other option of par ash. Par ash gives you a Falcon. Kabara wood gives you a Riflic. The answer I have come up with from the response, is that although the Riflic has worse stats to start with, once I start to grind the Riflic, it's stats will be higher than a Falcon of the same grind level. The fact of lucky days for grinding, just came up in conversation, but I was already aware of how a lucky day is better for grinding with less chance of failure. So, thank you for explaining the kabara wood issue, I'll just have to grind and keep my fingers crossed next lucky day. Do you craft?? - Vay - 09-02-2007 In fact, your Riflic, if you're patient and wait to get REALLY good grinders (+9 or 10 B), may become even more powerful than a 9* equivalent... I have brought a few Kubara Bows to +8, Alterics, and the ATP is at like 606 or so, I've sold them though, as I really don't like bows. (I think the 9* bow ATP is 590ish)... of course, the Riflic won't have the accuracy of a Phantom (9* gun), at least I don't think. Been a long time since I looked at Riflic's base stats.
