Backing up. - Orphen - 19-02-2007 I've figured to simply ask the question: Is backing up a good or bad thing? I'll be the first to admit that yes, after 6 corruptions, each of which having a very worthwhile amount of work being put into them, I back up my rare items on a seperate memory card in case such an incident does happen which is beyond my control. The Sealed J sword which I spent months searching for would have been erased around my fourth corruption, due to a word select glitcher. This is a completely opinionated thread, please note that I could not care less about your condoning of my backed up data, not abused a right in rhe least. If I have one item, I back up ONE item. I'd just like to hear the public opinion on backing up items/materials. Backing up. - Phantom_RAcast - 19-02-2007 I have back ups in the bank incase of FSOD. I also try and keep semi up to date dumps of my memory cards in case of corruption. I'd rather not have to re-hunt something because of some lame glitch in the game. Backing up. - Orphen - 19-02-2007 I would agree. Each corruption for me generally had higher stakes than the last. I lost a Lv200 from my most recent. Backing up. - ALMSIVI - 19-02-2007 I back up my items to protect against FSOD. I also dupe to place the same weapons on multiple characters, so as to not waste time transferring those items to and fro. In the rare event that I would trade one of them, I trade away the item with one backup, and delete all other copies. Backing up. - pink - 19-02-2007 With the amount of bugginess online even outside of intentional FSOD... gives me all the more reason to back-up my items... XD So yeah, I'm all for it as long as dupes are not traded, abused, etc. Backing up. - Orphen - 19-02-2007 I did not expect to see such positive responses. Backing up. - nomercy - 19-02-2007 I would if I knew how, to be honest. My GC itself isn't in the best of health, so sometimes stuff freezes up and wrecks my memory cards etc. Since I'm not online either, it really doesn't matter if my weapons and stuff were duped because I have nobody to trade them to, and I wouldn't give dupes out anyway. No abuse, but it really isn't a bad idea. |
