How Messed Up P.S.U's Economy Is. - popfreak - 25-03-2007

(I am an 11 year old and i don't have much skill in writing so please have mercy)
Today i am here to talk about the problems with P.S.U's economy. There are many problems but i want to start with one of the broader topics that started this whole mess. Of course this problem is "duped money". Duped money causes many problems. First of all the people who are duping money for personal needs are not wasting their time looking for shops who have good prices for the many things they need they are simply buying it from the non-playable characters. The problem with this is all of the money that they are spending, none of it is going to a good cause well because they are NPC's. The second problem is when the people are not going to buy from the NPC's for an example to get elemental weapons they are simply getting rid of that duped money to get something good for themselves. The down side of that is the people who are selling the well earned things are getting unreal money which could cause the innocent to get banned (and we don't want that) . The last problem with that is that when people are getting duped money in my opinion they know its duped but they are just to needy and to greedy to get rid of it. I can admit that this has happened with me but i could not give it away. I couldn't give it away because mostly in P.S.U is based on money. (In P.S.O there were no problems because you found everything). Even if you want to make that weapon you have to buy the board for a ridiculously high price. (It would take you days or weeks to find the board for the thing you want). Whats causing these high prices are "hackers" and/or "dupers" which i am going to talk about now. People with unreal money who have spent it in N.P.C shops are the problem. SEGA has noticed this and simply raised the prices thinking there was no problem with that. But there is and i think we all know what it is. Its the people who work hard and get real money to buy things in stores, but SEGA is disabling that ability by raising prices. This is causing the U.S and European servers to accept duped money even though they know its very wrong.
(If there is anything i missed or anything you disagree with please private message me and tell me).
Special Thanks To: Kitsadoodles for inspiration on the topic.
Special Thanks To: SEGA who has made this problem so i could discuss it
Thank you for reading Smile

Yay! Smile
I think this is true! People, including Sega, are raising their own prices; the only way to survive this change is to raise your own prices! Therefore, there is no way to end this.. ;-;

You write incredibly well for somone of eleven! I quit PSU a long time ago but I do agree with the statements you have made. By the way; you don't need to place periods/"." inbetween acronym letters in order to make said acronyms valid. Sometimes people do this, say, for a country (example: "U.S.A") but even then I wouldn't bother on a forum Tongue

Thank you for agreeing with me everybody i appreciate all the support you have given since i have made this thread. (Ill try to watch my grammar thanks Anti Hacker).

Well, since Gameguard and client-side patches have, for now, pwned the dupers, the economy is slowly stabilising. We just need the more sensible prices in Player Shops to be bumped to the top of the list, rather than the fools who haven't realised there's no infinite Meseta source any more. XD

lol you don't have to, your grammar is good I was just pointing something out.

Is it worth me coming back to PSU? I have a level 30-40 wartechter or something I seem to remember!

Well Anti-Hacker its worth staying on if you have your account. Its not worth going back on if you have already canceled your account. I mean its not that great a game but it just might be worth playing. And since your characters are only level 30 and 40 i strongly suggest not going back on because everybody will be higher than you and it will be horrible. Also this gets me thinking i should have said something a big problem is spamming there is so much of it especially lab S2 people get over 160 mission points and over 20,000 meseta trust me by the time your on everybody will probably be the max level or level 60 spamming like there is no tomorrow. You don't have to take my word on it just do whatever you think is right just giving advice. Smile

I say come back. The only solution to these problems seems to be to wait them out, along with the rest of the content. Either that or make sure you can rejoin with the same characters when everything settles down! There's always someone to play with, wherever you look.

You see we are not going to stop people from duping or hacking or anything like that you wont convince them to do anything. They are doing this for their own pleasure so that they can have everything of course they know its wrong but they dont care! And Baruk you cant get people to lower their store prices have ridiculous prices is the only way to survive in this game and we all know that. Dont tell me that you have never sold anything for exetremly high prices i know this is redundant but it is the only way to make my point. Everywere i go i see people with millions of meseta we cant stop it. There is only one way we need the higher authority (SEGA) to pay more attention, per say do something about this problem. And it is bad this isnt even considered a MMO anymore you know how crazy this is?!?!?! (there have been no changes that have stopped the duping glitch). If no one does anything about this then the online servers are going to be taken away a lot faster then you though it would be. (sorry SEGA for blaming you). Again if there is anything you dont agree with or something i havent been talking about please put it out there!

There have been no changes that have stopped the duping glitch.

Snipped out everything but the stuff I'm specifically responding to.

1. You're right, the legit community can't stop the hackers and dupers doing their stuff, but SEGA can and has. See point 3.

2. Indeed, there is no way to force people to drop their prices, but with no source of infinite Meseta, the only people selling high are the fools who have yet to realise the stuff's not gonna sell. It would be nice if the shops sorted by lowest price, though, not most recently updated.

3. Er, are we playing the same game?

Every time Gameguard updates on the JP side, the US/EU side updates simultaneously. Gameguard now stops loads of cheat engines from working with PSU, so there's very little hacking going on.

In addition, the swimsuit glitch, which allowed characters to wear the swimsuit under actual clothes, used server-tricking exploits similar to how duping works. The swimsuit glitch was patched up about two months ago, thus disabling duping.

Furthermore, not long ago there was a blanket wipe of any S-Rank weapon that was absolutely unobtainable by legitimate means, so no longer do the Psycho Wand and Apocalypsic float around on the servers. The only things left are those duped S-Ranks that were also legitimately obtainable, like the Crea Doubles. However, I find myself caring little about those, since I could get them if I wanted to and they're ridiculously overpriced in Player Shops anyway.

All that's left as hard evidence of the duping is the billions of duped Meseta still floating around.

But Meseta can't be duped any more, so there is now a finite supply, not counting drops.

Considering the weight of money sinks, like Charge Cubes and field lobby restocking, Meseta is being consumed fast. Thus, eventually, Meseta levels will stabilise.
