Sega decided to shutdown the official servers.......yep it is the true.
there weren't enouph players to justify the money wasted by paying the company that made the maintenance of the servers.....
there is an option, try and find a private server like stchack server, join by changing some stuff.....and voilá new friends

and these private servers will they mess up my memory card and character
and can i go online on gamecube with these private servers

well, u have less chance of getting corruption or a frozen screen as u did on the sega servers, since these ppl devote more time to patching these, they rarely happen, i will join once they sign my SN/AK up and i get a friggin cable, but i trust them enough to go on with my lvl 106 RAmar, AND IM GONNA BUY SH*T =D

problems with curruptions on gc are frequent on the server, the items and char can be restore if you ask gms.......but it happens

GMs = hackers. I've seen it on BB, they sometimes make items for players.
