Comparisons - Ash L-M - 09-12-2003 Hey, before departing with the Cube I made a list of comparisons between the Dreamcast and the Gamecube PSO Versions. I have listed them here. You can only reach Level 100 on the Dreamcast and on the Gamecube you can reach Level 200. There is a variance in graphics, the Dreamcast version only had basic circle shadows, the Gamecube has more lighting effects on characters, color is improved and the menu system is black and looks âjaggeredâ on the Dreamcast [Only in 50Hz though]. 3 more characters and Episode two new for the Gamecube [With the exception that episode two was on Ver2.0]. You can actually find good rare weapons in normal on the Dreamcast [I found an AGLITO 1975 on my first visit to the ruins at level 37]. The rarest thing I have found on normal mode is DELESABERâS RIGHT HAND and got a DELESABERâS BUSTER. Iâm not dissing any console here! I was wondering if you noticed any differences between the versions if you own the Dreamcast original. [Thereâs a lot more, like no Ultimate, try doing very hard to reach Level 100!] Comparisons - odin22 - 09-12-2003 I got to lv 89 just by lv'ing on v.hard:eek: Also the Dreamcast version was easier - esp. beacuase Ramar's could use all tech's and Humars had such high ata!! - also, you could get hit materials and a host of cool weapons no matter what your id was! Comparisons - Ash L-M - 09-12-2003 ATA was great for HUmars. Mine is maxed out completley. One problem with the Dreamcast is you had a HP limit. Comparisons - odin22 - 09-12-2003 ? Isn't there one for the Gamecube version as well!?? Comparisons - Ash L-M - 09-12-2003 Not that I know of. HUmars also had low Accurracy too, my HUmar has Grants and all that, it was cool being able to learn all of the spells.
Comparisons - odin22 - 09-12-2003 Yeah, but that made the game majorly unfair for Force types! Comparisons - Ash L-M - 09-12-2003 True, but it was cool still. The 'Walk through walls' was a great thing for niggling through that door what needed three switches. Comparisons - decswxaqz - 09-12-2003 Are you talking about version 1 or 2 on DC? Couldn't you get to lvl 20 on verision 2? Anyway. Sounds and spell animations were very poor compared to GC version. But you expect things to get better don't you? Menu system was bad, and the quick menu (R & Y) wasn't introduced till version 2. So in version 1, if you was a Hunter and wanted to cast a spell (which wasn't on quick menu) you had to go through the menus! Very bad. Rare weapons seemed to have huge -%s. I don't think I found a rare without one . And rares appeared in their normal colour boxes (weapon in orange boxes, shields in blue). Those are all version 1, not sure about version 2. Comparisons - Ash L-M - 11-12-2003 On version One I found a SPREAD NEEDLE with the stats of [percentages] 0%-65%-65%-65%-25%. Yep, life was great on the cast execpt for dogdy movements of characters on the net it was fine. Comparisons - Ton - 12-12-2003 I don't have the dreamcast version, but with common sense, I would say that episode 1&2 has better graphics. |
