Forum Updates!! Exciting eh? - Comments - 23-07-2008

Following yesterdays update (Stating that a lot of the issues users had when making enquiries on the forums had now disappeared, even though they actually hadn't!) has now actually been implemented, with Ragol.co.uk's Community Forums now being completely up-to-date and advanced as they come!* Alongside the update, there's a few new features to see and abuse as well!
  • Forum Version Update
    The Community Forums are now as up-to-date as they can currently be. New users will be required to enter more security information through reCAPTCHA™ during registration - A step taken to reduce the amount of them pesky bots that appear on the forums!
    You should also notice that you (Hopefully!) won't be bumping into anymore "Can't find..." error messages upon posting something or searching for something in the beloved forum environment. The database errors will have also disappeared (Again, hopefully!)
  • New Forum Board (The Extended Phantasy Star Community)
    A new board has appeared on the forums linking to the new Ragol.co.uk YouTube channel, as well as introducing a new podcasting board.
  • Podcasting!
    You can now post your own podcasts on Ragol.co.uk! Whether you just wish to share an mp3 you have, or post a show you've made concerning something Phantasy Star (Or not!), now you can share it with the entire Ragol.co.uk Community, or world! RSS (Including iTunes) users can also subscribe to Ragol.co.uk Podcasts so whenever a new podcast is posted, the show will be waiting for you on your desktop!
  • New Social Networking Features (Example)
    Got a Ragol.co.uk Forum Profile? Well, your profile has changed! It now looks more like something from mySpace/Facebook than a forum profile! You can now add friends, leave messages on profiles, view groups, statistics, and more, including...
  • Profile Albums (Example)
    Upload your own pictures and show them off to other forum users in the form of photo albums!
  • Multi-Quoting
    You can now quote more than once by using the multi-quote button in your reply!
  • New Icons & Styles
    Got a case of the shifta's? Must be some new posts around! Fancy a trip of the boards? Then you need a ryuker!
  • Tags
    Add a tag to your new thread and it'll be easier for others to find
  • Custom Profile Styling
    Customise how your profile is indeed styled! Play around with the classic Ragol.co.uk look to suit your style down to the ground including custom background pictures!
  • Notifications
    If you have a new notification such as a friend request, private message, profile comment, group invite or request, etc. you'll now be told about it alongside your private message box on the top right of every forum page.

Unfortunately with everything good comes some things bad, there are a few bugs that i need to look into, but in the meantime if you do find any others please let me know below! If theres anything else you'd like to see let me know below or just comment in general on the new goods!

  • Problems relating to HTML in 'Comments' posts, and problems in clicking the titles of 'Comments' threads from the index page
  • WYSIWYG editor not appearing correctly in reply/thread maker pages

That looks awsome Lee, similar to the stuff on pso-world, but this site has maintain the same natural ragol.co.uk look.
The podcasting is comming soon as far as i can see, the youtube page also looks great, i may try and find something usefull to be added Big Grin
Why don't you add the pso ep1&2 and the pso ep3 movies you made lee?
New icons look great and they indicate new stuff, like the ryuker icon reffering to a link.

Podcasting information will hopefully be around tomorrow, and i'm adding a few more classic PSO video's from 2004 & 2005 to YouTube now!

Glad you like the new icons, although if you have any other idea's for new icons please get them in and we'll get them in soon or add them as extra optional styles (I.e. your very own theme!).

Also to add to your picture album, go to your 'User Control Panel' (I.e. 'User CP') >> 'Pictures & Albums' (Attachment 1)

As another new feature, all notifications such as outstanding new friend requests, group invitations & requests, etc can also be found under a link which appears under your private message notification link (Attachment 2). Yes, i did just find that out btw Tongue lol

2 things i found.
-when you post a new reply, all the buttons such as bold, image, center, smilies.... are all blue, but when you drag your mouse on top of them the button becomes with the default grey, no big deal.

Ah sorry about that, you should have it now! Smile

Another other cool feature (Just added!) is that you can now completely customise your own profile, including adding a background image (Image must be in your album), changing colours (Should you not like the classic Ragol.co.uk look!), and so on!

To customise your profile and add your own styles, go to 'User Control Panel' >> 'Customize Profile' (See Attachment).

More information on both of these features, and other newly added features can be found in the updated FAQ section on the forums (Click here or the 'FAQ' link).

It is great, i can now imagin pink making her personal profile with lot's of pink in it (no offense pink)
I changed mine already and i will upload many more pso pictures to my albums.
Also for got to mention but those crazy error messages are gone Big Grin
