Shorter battery life and no support for GBA. Otherwise seems okay, if the cost will be the same as DS. If.

Cool

Doesn't change much, apart for some minor aspects the Handheld stays the same.

Why would nintendo drop the gba card slot?

New Nintendo DSi announced - Cye Zero - 03-10-2008

Nintendo believes in making progress and one way to advance the NDS is to remove the GBA slot. It should be replace with a new feature or a stronger battery life. But so far it looks like this is going to be just like "the gameboy micro".

i wouldnt like this for the shear fact that the only reason i plan on using my DS is for PS0, and well, ONLINE. And online sucks the crap out of the DS's battery enough, shorter battery life=horrid play time online >.>

Well thats cool! But i don't think i be buying one, one DS is good enough for me. But then again it do look better.....hmmmm

Well you can always play online with the charger attached. But then what's the point of it being a handheld. lol

But the DSi is also suppose to double as a camera, digital music player, and photo manipulator. But is can't play mp3s... Nintendo you've disappointed me again.

I actually still don't have my very own DS and I really need something to replace my GBA. I'm very disappointment at the lack of support for GBA. Waiting for someone to hack the system to be able to play ROMs is simply not the same thing. Same with mp3 support, although I'm not bothered about camera/photoedit/etc. The layout and controls seem to be same as DS, so the only things I really really care about are the games and online capabilities.

Like Bmil, one of the reasons I'd like one is for PS0. The online of the DS could do with a lot of improvement, so we'll see how the new console goes. Playing it with the charger attached isn't so bad because it's still much lighter and less bulky than bringing a console with you if you travel a lot. A shortened battery life is awful, but it's not intolerably short. Luckily, hotel internet access points with Wifi also have sockets. Not 100% portable PS0, but good enough for me.

That's true A little PSO is better than no PSO. But for right now I think I'll still choose the DS lite over the DSi simply because of the GBA compatibility. If some DSi exclusive games where announced then I might reconsider, but based on the system specs. It's not a good upgrade.
