what exactly does mad cow disease do to humans?

and while we're at it, what caused it?

Mad Cow Disease - Ton - 24-12-2003

I have no clue, but i think it kills them or something like that, the person eating it.

We had a huge outbreak of CJD (Mad Cow Disease) in the UK a couple of years back. I was off eating meat for about 5 months. What it is, is a disease which Cows are infected with. When we eat the beef from a cow that has been infected, the disease is passed on and starts to eat away at our brain cells. It can also have a period of time, from which it stays in our body not causing any damage. So we could find out that we have CJD about 10 years later Sad. Anyway thats near enough all I know on the subject.
