No I don't really understand End Of Evangelion at all. All I know is Shinji ends up deciding for a rebirth of the world and since he loved Asuka, he brought her back to life. Then everyone else died and it ends with an Adam and Eve type ending with Shinji and Asuka being the only two people left alive on Earth.

In The End of Evangelion, Seele is trying to bring about Third Impact for their own reasons, by using the massive power of Unit 01 and Lilith. However, Shinji undergoes massive psychological trauma, that is, in fact, for the best. Third Impact is started by Unit 01 and the prototype Evas created by Seele, used to create the Tree of Life and the Holy Stigmata. I think of it sort of as Judgement Day as is mentioned in the Bible, only without all of the specific Christian qualities.

So, Shinji brings about Third Impact, which results in an ending similar to Noah's Ark, where only Shinji is left behind, along with Asuka, whom he loves. I suppose you could call them the modern Adam and Eve, athough it isn't made clear in the movie whether anybody else actually survives.

Third Impact wipes the world clean of sin (and if what I believe is true, of almost all of humanity), leaving behind Shinji and Asuka. EoE can really only be analyzed in the way you want to, since not only the last movies but the whole series can be very confusing.

That's my take on the ending.

In layman terms, the movie goes through a demented version of one of the books of the bible, I am a bit of an antichrist, so I don't know what that may be, since I know nothing on the bible, but in layman terms, Everyone dies and Shinji and Asuka become the second adam and eve.
