Where can I find information about PSO: Blue Burst? - PSO Phreak - 24-05-2004
Does anyone have any information on the PC version of Phantasy Star Online? What new features does Blue Burst have, or is it just a port of the existing console versions? I hope it will be like The Sims, in which people are constantly adding new charcter models for download. As much as I love Phantasy Star Online: Episode I & II, it lacks in character originality.

I would link you to some info at PSOW, but would probably get flamed by some of the resident trolls here.
There isn't a huge difference between Blue Burst and E1&2. It is basically a port of the Xbox version with some nice new additions (server side saving, new area/enemies, new shortcut menu, better moderation, new team system and a new npc with a whole new quest ladder). The beta is available for download right now, so you can sample the game yourself if you wish, but it requires you to register on a Japanese site to be able to play, which confuses a lot of people

That article is slighty wrong in places.
Those specs are for the Closed beta, whereas the one that we are all playing now is the Open beta. It runs on English Operating systems without any problems so is available to people from around the world.
Don't use a translated version of the registration page as it will not allow you to register. You have to do it using the page's original form. Some fields require Japanese characters.
There are no rates of pay for the beta thankfully.

Actually I do play it
Someone put the image of that magazine cd on the internet, so now we also get to play it.
I would write some instructions for registering/dloading, but don't feel up to writing stuff that will help people who flame me. If anyone wants to know how to take part in the beta testing then pm me and I will gladly help you (some exceptions
).

From the way it looks, this PC version is much better than what we have now. Do you think PSO Universe will be on PC as well though? Once BB goes commercial are you going to switch to the PC instead of GC, Omar?

It looks like PSU will be on a console, as that seems to be the way ST bring out games usually (console, then updated version on pc).
