FSOD and corruption - Thesord - 15-08-2004 I know fsods happen when the the gc becomes overloaded...I was just wondering how frequent is corruption?(In ep I and II). Also, how many of you are still playing ep I and II? Just wanted to know,to make sure I'm not going to waste money by going online and not finding anyone from the forums..(Although I play with unknown people too of course). Also how many people think sega is charging too much for little work on their servers/game? FSOD and corruption - Serpent7 - 15-08-2004 Well, for me, it depends where you go, if you tend to go to busier servers, you get FSOD'd a lot, however, if you go to quieter ones, Alphard 06 for example, it happens almost never. Typically, the same applies to corruption, I'd say. I've met loads of people I know from the forums online, which is great oh, and, no, I don't think they charge too much.
FSOD and corruption - rena-ko - 15-08-2004 just minimize your fsoding: dont do selections or actually any input while loading or saving. on shipselect, let it save before you do any imput. worst thing that can happen is that you freeze while saving (fsod-x). to minimize your losses through normal fsod: dump all your unequipped precious stuff in the bank before you leave a game. ingame, only use 1 weapon thats precious to you (a rare for example) and cover the other needs (mechguns or a groupcontrol weapon or whatever) with expendable stuff from the shops (preferably with charge special and 50 hit). always equip your one precious rare when you go warping somewhere. never enter the bosswarp to olga or dark falz with anything you dont want to lose unequipped. theres a slight chance to get an endless warp which will force you to power off manually without saving. never join a game from lobby 1. leaving said game into a crowded lobby 1 is more likely to freeze you. and yepp, the HL is too high and i really dont think EU needs 6 ships.. 2 would be more than enough. but its not like anyone could do anything about it. FSOD and corruption - Phantom_RAcast - 15-08-2004 at the question of corruption, lately alot of people I know have been corrupting and I've also heard about some people I dont know corrupting, and I agree with rena-ko on how to avoid losing anything to precious to FSOD, I am still playing ep 1 & 2, and the HL price wouldnt be bad if they more to the servers FSOD and corruption - Serpent7 - 15-08-2004 Yes, I haven't really seen many improvements to the security etc... FSOD and corruption - GamerJoey12 - 15-08-2004 it sucks when peoples data r lost FSOD and corruption - Serpent7 - 15-08-2004 Yes, but we all have to live with it... :'( :'( :'( FSOD and corruption - Thesord - 15-08-2004 Thanks for the quick replies.. :bandit: Just gave me the view I needed on general 'atmosphere'. I think I may not be going online again..(Parents won't pay,and their right..I mean, paying 8 euros to play only 1 game online,a month, with an unsecure(Fsoding, etc)and laggy network of servers..) FSOD and corruption - Serpent7 - 16-08-2004 Oh, that's a shame, because even with all the occasional FSOD's etc., it's still really great fun, and there are loads of ways to prevent it, I've listed a couple on this page. FSOD and corruption - Shifty - 16-08-2004 if its the only online game your really gonna play then its great. and yes i think the price is to high for what gets done. ok i spose we get a quest added every now and then, but do they really cost that much to make??? |
