Did it send you to IGN ?

PSO World - DevilFyre - 21-10-2004

i've been taken to IGN, but sometimes i'll get a PD error or a MySQL error...

PSO World - [jd]mojojojo - 21-10-2004

Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) in /usr/home/psoworld/cgi-bin/mainfile.php on line 61

did u get that ?

The last time i was sent to IGN. But if i do remember it always was looking for people to donate wasnt it ?

It was one damn good website in its day but then again so was

psosc.gamersuplink.com

PSO World - Spidy - 21-10-2004

that error, translated is:
'we couldn't open the database, therefore we could not show you the webpage.'

However, after observing that URL for a couple days(close to a week), I have reason to believe that PSO World has, indeed, disappeared forever.

Farewell PSO World, I knew thee well.

EDIT: after observing the error myself, I have come to the conclusion that the website itself may not actually be down, but they may have a slight coding error.

PSO World - [jd]mojojojo - 21-10-2004

I was thinking along those lines.

It was a cracking site tho for loads of stuff

Do you guys remember http://www.ragol.com ? That was up n running when PSO GC first came out and was run some guy from Japan n Hong Kong i believe. But it died and was nowhere to be seen

PSO World - Wookie-JEDI - 22-10-2004

That's all the stuff I get.

Shame coz it had so much info. on it :|

I don't think it's gone down. I think it's just changed servers. Maybe it was getting too largge for planetdreamcast/gamespy and wanted/had to change.
I also heard that Gamespy was merging into IGN so they would change the most active communities and hosted sites first. After all, most of the other Planet Dreamcast sites have died or moved.

As for Ragol.com, I don't know about the person, but I do know they died.
Here you can see the site's history and the final message
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.ragol.com

And that mysql (as has been said) error means that they can't connect to the database. But I think it's a whole database problem rather than config error. A config error would be "Could not connect to databse" rather than "Could not connect through socket".

It was a shame the way they treated Mindshare and AH King. But it was a bloody good site in its day.

I heard a new rumour on how PSO World is down...

It's been down for a week or so, and will be down for about another month and one half. I believe that internet worm got it.

check for urself

Does Ragol.com and this site have any connection at all, just wondering coz they have similar names. And sorry this is off topic, didnt want to start a whole new thread about it.
