You get it from your interent provider. Depends on what kind of broadband you have and who you subscribe too.

If you using internet connection sharing you can automatically find the ip. As long as your ip doesnt change everytime you connect then it will be the same as your computer. If it does then auto ip probally works with your isp. Hope that makes sense :S
