Gamecube=Dead - Zen - 27-11-2004 I am a Problem, My Gamcube has Died... It will not read the disc at all. I have a feeling that it is the Laser, but I am not sure ... I have two Choices: Repairing my Gamecube. ($50-60) Pros: -Get to Keep my same HL, and Over 700 Hours of game play will not be for nothing. -...I don't have to buy a new one Cons: -The Laser might get fixed, but what if something else gets messed up?? Thats $100 Dollars in reapir, and with that money, I could have gotten a Brand New GC Buying a New, or Used Gamecube. ($70-90) Pros: -New GC -With a Brand New GC, I know it will work w/o Problems (Newer Models are usually the better ones imo) Cons: -More Monry out of my Pocket. -Don't get to Keep the same HL. -If I get it used... What if it Doesn't Work? So, I am Stuck... What Should I do? Gamecube=Dead - HUchamp - 28-11-2004 what GC are bout 89.00$ now.. id just buy a new one. what were you piping? hehe i told ya j/k
Gamecube=Dead - Lee-yoshi - 28-11-2004 You can still use your existing Hunters License with a New Nintendo Gamecube console. It doesnt have to be played on the same one, you could play PSO online on your mates console with your own characters that currently exist, as long as your memory card stays with you ^_^ The game doesnt take any serial numbers or anything of off the console, just off of the game disc when you first sign-up for a Hunters License. Use your same memory card, you dont even have to enter any details to play online again if you get a new console. Short Answer: Buy a new Gamecube AND play with your existing characters
Gamecube=Dead - Red XIII - 28-11-2004 i would try and gett one off ebay that way its cheaper, but beware tampered ones and sad-acts that swoop in @ the last second with like 50p more than ur bet i hate u sniper gays

Awesome!, Thanks man, My 10 Chars, and 700+ Hours Wont Go to Waste! Quote:what GC are bout 89.00$ now.. id just buy a new one. what were you piping? hehe i told ya j/k Piping, Yes, I did Lots of that, but I Blame it on This: -My GC Has Fallen many Times (unstable Shelf >_<) With the Game Disc in/or/Still Running, Probably F***ing up the Laser -I have gone to many places with my GC, and it has been in my Back-Pack, and has been "Banged" Up from Traveling ... I have had my GC for 3-4 Years, but with all the Hell it has gone through I am Surpised it has lasted this long o.o;; Gamecube=Dead - Sheik - 28-11-2004 I'd say get a new cube...the platinum cubes look shiny....ooooooooooo ![]() I clean my laser with a q-tip, blowing on it, or a vaccum cleaner but you have to know what you're doing to do these methods. all my friend's and I have the ORIGINAL model gamecubes from back in NOV-DEC of 2001 and mine is the only one that has not suffered anything wrong because I treat mine as if it were made of glass. I even have my original controller that came with it and the joystick is still really stiff (I never play fighting games with it, only my MAD KATZ). Gamecube=Dead - Lee-yoshi - 28-11-2004 My Gamecube has been around since its launch in the UK, and it has a lot of trouble nowadays reading discs, im in a similiar situation 2 u Zen, and im also considering buying a new GC one day. The amount of errors ive had on Episode III is horrible because it suffers loading up the pictures of Cards! You can hear the disc clicking endlessly in the Gamecube, and im so used to it now its sickly! You can hear the disc clicking endlessly in the Gamecube, and im so used to it now its sickly! That is how the problems started for me. I would hear the disc, and it sounded like the Gamecube was gonna explode. then, I got the Disc Errors, and Yes, Sheik, I used those methods of Cleaning (But when it was too late) and it helped it for a month, I have resently returned from a trip, and when I got home, I turned it on, and it was dead. Every disc I put in was "NO DISC" I was able to boot up PSO two or three times, but then it finally gave in. It couldn't even read PSO anymore. So, now I am playing PSO on my brother's GC, not bad, but i would prefer my own GC ... :S Gamecube=Dead - flickynick - 28-11-2004 try getting a dust cloth and brushin over the laser gently, dnt poke and wipe it really hard Its worth a shot

But my 'Cube is still in pretty good shape. |
