i have now created a hunter character and getting really annoyed.

when i fight i do a combo and always ALWAYS!! i get hit by the enemy either half way through or at the end of the combo.
fighting one on one with an enemy i can get around this by timing my hits correctly. but in a group its impossibe.

I find myself always using a gun.
but thats fusturating aswell because if i wanted to use a gun i would of chosen a ranger.

P.S. I picked a hunter cos it seems they get the best looking and most sylish weapons. is this true.?

are rangers anygood?

thank you

Rangers are the most balanced when it comes to agility, health, and evasion. Though, your hunter will get faster as you progress, especially if you arm him with a battle boost item. Rangers get the huge bazookas, but hunters get some pretty tite double swords, so it depends what appeals to you more.

why do mechguns have such a long recovery time?
do rangers have the same length of recovery time when using them?

Is there any way to stop the enemies from hitting you midway through a combo

fighting techniques - odin22 - 21-07-2003

yes, using a heavy attack - this will knock the enemy backwards giving you enough time to attack again.

With mechs a heavy attack hits 3 times in succesion - wow mega distance between you and your fows!!!-enough time to recoverWink

What about after i have i finished the combo. i get hit during recovery time.

And its worse when taking on multiple enemies.

help me

Are rangers any good. or do they get boring.

Rangers aren't my thing.

For a hunter, try using a soft, hard, hard combo. If you have high enough ATA, and can hit hard on the second part of the whole combo, you should be able to attack 3 times. What weapon are you using? If you find one, use a double saber or dagger. The quick sucession of the attacks mean that monsters don't usually get a chance to attack you.

However, with daggers, you don't move forward enough. With double sabers you move quite a fair distance. So if an enemy sneaks up on you, you have probably moved out of its way when attacking. I think normal sabers also move a lot, but if you do a soft, hard, hard combo, then you are left open between the first and second attack.

what if im surronded or fighting a large group.
one of the enemies always hits me.
iv tried swords, partisans, sabers, daggers

the only thing that works is a handgun witch is not why i chose to be a hunter

Depends on the group and how fast you can kill them if you use a sword. Swords are quite good, I think they have more power than a partisan but less ATA. So if you can hit monsters quite well without the extra ATA, I would go for a sword.

I would use a sword. You should be able to pull off a full combo of soft, soft, hard before they hit you.
If you can kill them in one or two combos of say soft, hard, hard I would do that. Less enemies is better than more hurt ones.
