Just a random thing I noticed - misterbud - 21-12-2004

I recently noticed somthing on these forums. People have been using chat slang, such as u instead of you, r instead of are, and so forth. If you are one of these people, please stop this, this is in no ways a demand, just a humble request. This is a forum, you aren't going to die if you don't get your message off in record time. In a game, I can understand this, you are being attacked by monsters, and need to say somthing fast. But in a forum, well, you probably get the picture by now Tongue.

Thanks.

(This is not ment to be offensive in any way. It is ultamately your decision, just please consider what I'm saying.)

Well you sure don't use a capital I for describing yourself. Tongue

Does it distract you that people use chat slang? Just went and read the forum rules but noticed it didn't say anything about using chat slang. Is this because it's taken for granted that people would type properly?
I wouldn't know, as I am new to the use of internet forums and have a lot to learn. Smile

intanet slng iz da bomb

heheh. Internet shortcuts are useless. Same for texts. Just write it out in full. It probably takes longer for the other person to understand if they aren't as fluent in gibberish =/

Yeah, good point. I, myself am pretty good at understanding it because my friend from school always talks in it on MSN, but it took a while to get used to it... Sad

LOL. Yeah, some people in the game do write like that. I find it really amusing. It's a fun challenge to read it, but I could never do it. Well, maybe I could, but it'd take at least two times longer than usual.
Anyway. As long as the meaning gets across, it doesn't matter, right?

Edit: Yeah. And the alternating capital letter or 0 thing. Takes ages to type, doesn't it?
