I hear from many friends and stores that PSO I and II were being discontinued in means of sales. When did this happened?

If anything it is because most people already have it so they can't sell the rest of the copies. A lot more people in my area must like it more then I thought, because there are no used copies for sale at the EB.

Now that we have that question answered, could I buy a used PSO from a friend who never went online and use my own memory card to play PSO. Would that work, or would it have to be on that GC.

You can use PSO on as many Gamecubes as you like, whether you play it online or not. However, once the PSO games Serial Number and Access Key have been registered with SEGA, it cannot be registered again to a different user - although it can be used on another Gamecube.
PSO, Episodes I & II were discontinued ages ago, and ever since about Christmas 2003 its been incredibly hard to find a copy. You wont find a Pre-owned copy of Phantasy Star Online either at places like GAME/Electronics Boutique because they wont trade them in incase they have been played online before - hence not allowing anyone else to play it online. I dont know why it was discontinued from retail sales, it just was, and it was a sad day for PSO fans, meaning no more people could pick it up and play! ;_;

And the fact that it's not technically advanced: the graphics looks like something from my toilet and the sound effects won't make you scream out in happyness, is scaring people away from buying it. "Who wants to buy a game that looks this ugly?" the shops thought and didn't order many copies. Shame on them...
Lee-Yoshi: I know a guy that actually bought a pre-owned pso. The instructions and such was included, but the HL had been used before, so he didn't get a 30-day free. That's all he lost, though.

Many games are still being sold that lack overall quality (look at any PS game). The graphics are the only bad thing about the game.

i bought my US version of PSO+ at http://www.gameexpress.com only about a month ago, so you can probably still get it there. and if you can't find it anywhere else, you can always check eBay.

well, you can contact sega and get it reset if you buy a pre-owned copy with a used serial number, or atleast I heard
. I should buy PSO+ as well, just for the extra few quests
. Besides, my pso is pre-owned since I traded in the one I had (which was new when I got it) and suddenly got the urge to play and rebought it .

hmmm, oh well. Maybe if you actually asked them to reset it by deleting the current account on there and such but who cares anymore ^_~. Have fun with PSO when you get it
