Well I like the Fed. I've just recently done the Vell-os. I like the last Vevllos ship but it's nigh-on-impossible to upgrade with anything decent. The free fighters are nice. In an older version of the game it was more powerful (the actual ship), seems weaker this version.
The power of the Fed's weapons are amazing. But the carrier is a pain to more, even with all the sensor boosts/vertored thrusts I can find
. But that's the problem with having such huge power.I did the Polaris in the old version and they were quite good too. Not tried the rebel/pirate story lines.

Starbridges are the answer to all...
but you can go pirating from pirates with a Vellos javelin... just go and buy about 10 marine platoons... takes your capture chance up to about 75%...
Oh and the javelin can hardly ba affected by most weapons... you need to fire about 50 hellhounds at it to do anything...
Pirate storyline sucks... you lose your shp and get given a rubbish pirate carrier...

Ah a mod starbridge C. That's just great
. Shame it can't hold some of the most powerful weapons but that's game balancing for you .I want to conqour a planet
I just need to get my combat rating up a bit more Pirate carrier isn't too bad, having loads of fighters is better sometimes than weapons. Although it can be expensive if they all die.
