Spamming could be any one of those you just stated. It could, and likely would include:
- straying off-topic when posting in a thread continuously
- continuously posting nonsense
- continual posting of short messages (ie: 1-word posts)
There is no such thing as being overly active on a forum. The only time it becomes spam is when something like ^ this occurs.
