But luckily for you guys now, the patch servers are back online!</FONT><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif"> Also, some people have had trouble trying to type in their Game ID's and Passwords into the Menu Option. If you are having such a trouble, follow these steps:</FONT></P><OL><LI><DIV align=left><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Go to: Contol Panel, and open up Regional Settings & Languages</FONT></DIV></LI><LI><DIV align=left><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Go to the Languages Tab</FONT></DIV></LI><LI><DIV align=left><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Click 'Details' under 'Text'</FONT></DIV></LI><LI><DIV align=left><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Add Japanese as another language (Dont delete English unless you can read JP fluently!)</FONT></DIV></LI><LI><DIV align=left><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Apply the settings and exit the menu, starting up <EM>PSO: BB</EM></FONT></DIV></LI><LI><DIV align=left><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">When entering your Game ID, hold down the left 'Shift' and 'Alt' keys until some Japanese Text appears next to the box. Now you should be able to enter any text you like!</FONT></DIV></LI><LI><DIV align=left><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">You can now delete these settings if you like, however its recommended you save your Game ID and Password at the Options screen so you dont have to go through all of that again!</FONT></DIV></LI></OL><P align=left><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Enjoy!</FONT></P>

The way I fixed it was
(1 Went to the control panel
(2 Went to regional and language settings
3) Went into details
4)Than I made sure under "Supplemental languages" nothing was checked boxed at all. If something is checked boxed and you uncheck it. Your computer will tell you that you need to restart for it to take effect.
5) After I did that I turned on the game and was able to type ^_^
