Is there anyway i can connect my computer to a wireless router ive also got so it can share my internet connection with other computers/devices (Its got 4 LAN ports and an ethernet port - The wireless router). Question for the technically advanced! - Serpent7 - 14-06-2005 Do you have a wireless receiver? And can the modem use Wi-Fi? Question for the technically advanced! - Lee-yoshi - 14-06-2005 I wouldnt have thought the modem could use wi-fi, but yes i do have one wireless reciever that id be using for the 2nd computer, hence my problem! Question for the technically advanced! - T_T1K - 14-06-2005 First you need to connect your adsl modem to your router via an ethernet cable (to the routers WAN port). This wont be possible if your modem is USB only so i recommend checking that out first
Question for the technically advanced! - Lee-yoshi - 14-06-2005 Nah, the ADSL Modem is USB only
Question for the technically advanced! - T_T1K - 14-06-2005 doh sorry mate
Question for the technically advanced! - Serpent7 - 14-06-2005 I may have missed something here, infact, I'm sure I have, but why can't you directly connect up the machines via ethernet cable? Question for the technically advanced! - Lee-yoshi - 14-06-2005 Because of many reasons (Mainly the fact its f**kin out of date!): It doesnt have an ethernet port (Yes, thats right!), but instead have a lead that come straight out the back of the tower with a BT phone plug on the other end, and its also on the opposite side of my mansion (:/). Question for the technically advanced! - Serpent7 - 15-06-2005 Ah, I see.
Question for the technically advanced! - Lee-yoshi - 15-06-2005 If only every computer was like my computer, just plug in and play, simple! lol Anyways, not to worry anymore, ill get it sussed one way or another, hopefully a replacement wireless modem will do the trick... well i can hope anyway.
